Ah. Well, to be the skeptic, I suppose that even if they were the ones who reserved wowcataclysm.com it doesn't necessarily mean they're making a WoW expansion called Cataclysm. They could just be doing what Lexi said and be reserving the name while it's purpose is still vague so no one abuses it.
Though while I do agree that the word Cataclysm in WoW lore is tied to the Maelstrom, the "cataclysm" part of it already happened, so I'm not sure what it would have to do with current events at the Maelstrom other than being its origin. Unless the next expansion is entirely within the Caverns of Time and takes place during the War of the Ancients. Which I doubt. Cataclysm likely refers to something new threatening to tear apart the world, which could be anywhere, not just the Maelstrom.
Heck, the Emerald Dream could have an impending Cataclysm. If I understand the whole "World as it would be without mortals" thing, the Emerald Dream is still un-"Sundered". It's really still fairly vague, even if there are minor ties to the Maelstrom.
