It's a shame that Blizzard seems to be going down the path of saying "screw the in-game explanations, we're getting money by doing it this way" with how they've worked on stuff like character customization (wouldn't have been hard to just throw in a giant machine run by goblins/gnomes where you'd pay to have your DNA/molecular structure redone) and now faction changing. There could be so much more potential in having the ability to cross to the other faction by doing a series of in-game quests and whatnot. First off it'd show that not all of the heroes are as loyal to their faction as you'd think, but it also would show that possibly the two main leaders of the factions (Thrall/Varian) are starting to lose influence on their people.Oh well, I won't be surprised if they add in paid race changes within a year or two. And then in maybe two more years or so they'll just toss in "pay to obtain" gear/levels.

That's exactly how you switch factions in EQ2. You do a series of betrayal quests that leave you without any real faction for a while. It takes a lot of time and effort to prove your loyalty to the other side.

isn't RaF already paying for levels?

I've been wishing there was some sort of crossover quest, it'd bring in great roleplaying possibilities. You don't need to change races, you just need other traitors for race specific things (like mounts)You could even have a segment of the quests be devoted to learning Common/Orcish, the whole thing could be amazing.Ah well.

well in my mind its only a matter of time now before they let you change your race within faction to any other race with that class( Sorry BE pallies and Dranei Shamen), But more than that I still think there is a strong chance that we will get a chance at some point in the future we will get a betrayal quest and get our Horde Gnomes and Alliance Trolls.

No your post was downrated for stating Blizzard should only make things that YOU like to do, instead of for other customers. Imagine that other players like things about the game you may not! Crazy thought isn't it?

I think Blizzard should do away with racial limitations of classes. It is possible for a tauren orphan to be raised by a gnome, as long as he gets to sleep in the garage (size issues may occur). The orphan might then be raised with the teachings of a warlock or mage. WoW already has an orphan week, who says these orphans cant be of a different race?
