Around Azeroth: Nightfall
Matt took this screenshot while leveling a tauren alt through Mulgore. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a good angle, but it looks completely natural, as if the shadows themselves were encroaching on Thunder Bluff, feeding off the essence of all that is good and pure until the residents are nothing but shades of their former selves. Forgive me: I'm in a horror-movie mood ever since discovering that this abomination is apparently inhabiting the sewers under my favorite restaurant. (Warning! Link is not for those with weak stomachs or people who have recently played Dead Space and still have nightmares about amorphous blobs coming out of walls!)
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, gold seller ads, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.

Leave it to me to watch the video BEFORE reading the "warning". Still, that's messed up.
Really nice screen though.

really cool screenshot, anyway we could get like some wallpaper versions of the around azeroth pics? This is probably my favorite screen on here yet.

A shame the title is still visible. A bigger version would make a real decent wallpaper for the desktop.

Agreeing with two posters above. Screenshots just lose any level of awesome they may have had when there is a big player name floating aound.

What's the point of sending an amazing shot with a blue name right where your eye focuses? How to kill a panorama.
Agerath Jul 2nd 2009 10:38AM
Hehe, the old 'colony of tubifex worms' viral vid.
Mordockk Jul 2nd 2009 10:53AM

Or everyone will get fed up with the slappy tickle fight Varian and Garrosh have going all the time and coexist sooner than WoW2 :P

That's a messed up shadow effect that sometimes happens after alt-tabbing out of the game.

I like the wikipedia article that mentions this stuff can "enter the home" via the toilet. Shudder.

You just found out about "It" now? So oblivious to what lurks beneath you.

OMG! I work in Cameron Village, and I eat lunch there every day! That video is totally disgusting and I believe I'll avoid all food preparation areas and lavatories around here from now on. Thank goodness I have WoW.com to alert me to these dangers!

Sigh, that video is irritating. People immediately scream "ALEINS! ZOMG!"
It's quiet oviously of mundane and terrestrial origin, even if it can't be immediately explained (as this one was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubifex).
News flash. Even moving at lightspeed (the fastest speed possible), moving between Earth and other celestial bodies would take between 4 and 13 billion years. If Aliens ever got to earth, they would:
1. Have to have figured out somehow that this planet is somehow more interesting than the billions of rocks in space.
2. Invented some sort of lightspeed travel, which would require IMMENSE amounts of energy.
3. Be extremely long-lived and patience.
Chances are, even if there are aliens (which is actually quite likely), is is extremely unlikely that they could get here or even talk to us.
So any non-scientific claim that aliens has doen something on earth should be scoffed at.

Minor edit: That's *between 4 years and 13 billion years.
Not 4 billion and 13 billion.
