The DP buff is a no brainer. A perfect example of where it is useful is Emalon. When an add is overcharged, getting DP up on that mob is good supplemental damage for the rest of your up front attacks, but you risk losing DPS on Emalon since that mob is down in 10 seconds (or else...).
