I agree that it feels too mage-like playing destro, but "The great AoE patch of 2008 ruined affliction"? I've seen 19k DPS on AoE trash pulls with Seed of Corruption. Seriously. Affliction's AoE is far better than Destro's Rain of Fire.

It was 3.1, not 3.0, that made affliction sub-par, and the problem is that it's sub-par on boss fights, not AoE trash pulls.
