WoW Moviewatch: A Death Knight's Tale - The Battle for Light's Hope Chapel Cinematic Movie
Today's WoW Moviewatch is a little bit of a repeat, but in an odd way. Shadowline1990's A Death Knight's Tale - The Battle for Light's Hope Chapel Cinematic Movie is another revisit version of the Death Knight closing cinematics. You might recognize Shadowline1990 as the guy who made The Culling of Stratholme - a WoW Cinematic Movie. This movie is, admittedly, more of the same idea.
Shadowline1990 took pieces of the in-game animations and voiceovers, and tried to make it into a more compelling cinematic experience. Shadowline1990 isn't the first person to do this with the Death Knight storyline, though, and he's very upfront to say he gives credit to Invisusira for having given the story this treatment first.
I'm not sure if Shadowline1990 knocked A Death Knight's tale out of the park the same way he did The Culling of Stratholme. While I think he did a (generally) good job with it, it didn't scream to me the same way Culling did. The video is attractive and well pieced together. The final product feels a little too-full. It seemed to drag on a little bit, but some of that is caused by the slower cadence of the voice acting.
In other great news, Shadowline1990 reports that his follow-up to Culling of Stratholme piece is nearly done. So, ultimately, there's a lot of good news to be had from him right now.

I really really hate Morgraine's voice. It sounds like and angst-filled teenager rather than a battle worn death knight of the scourge.

Nice video. I have done the DK starter zone quests like 4 or more times and always zone off, when they are talking at the end, so it was nice to actually know what they are talking about. lol

The cinematogrophy was excellent, but the music did not fit in general I think. If one were to take Shadowline's filming and add the music from the Invisusira version, I think the movie would be a lot better (as the biggest problem with Invisusira's was that the cinematography did not have the same quality as the in-game acting or the music).

Hi, this is the author of this movie.
@Rhifox: You may be right about mixing Invisusira's version and mine, but I didn't do it, simply because it would've been a total rip-off. I wanted to create my version, not re-creating his. And it was a project to an assignment thing (spelling?) some time ago, hence why I couldn't pick copyrighted music. As far as I know, I am allowed to use Blizzard's music as long as it's their game that is presented in the movie. Making a movie with only their soundtracks is a hard task, as everyone has heard them a thousand times before. In my own opinion, I think it turned out pretty good. The only thing I dislike in this movie is the camera-movements. They're not as smooth as they should be. Back in those days, I didn't knew how to do better than this.
@Micheal Gray: Thank you for your time to write about my movie, I really appreciate it. About the follow-up to The Culling of Stratholme; Indeed, I'm pretty close to finish it, but I recently had to postpone it a bit, due to work in real life. I had to work a bit more than expected these weeks. I'm going on vacation as everyone else, and the plan was to finish of this project atleast before the vacation, which doesn't seem to be doable anymore. But I'll try to find some spare time when I'm back home, it won't be another; "this movie was never released-movie". The plan so far is to release it in around 6 weeks.
ps: just call me Alex or Cape =) Shadowline1990 is just an old youtube account I made a long time ago =p
Thanks again,
