Two Bosses Enter: Jedoga Shadowseeker vs. King Dred

While last week's Two Bosses Moorabi/Trollgore matchup was downright gory, this week's battle appears no less likely to end up in a bloody mess. This week, we'll see King Dred of Drak'tharon Keep tear into Jedoga Shadowseeker and her minions inside Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom.
The ground rules:
- Assume that the opponents share similar levels, health pools and comparative overall damage output.
- In order to give Jedoga access to her minions, we'll set this deathmatch in her stomping grounds in Ahn'kahet – but we'll provide that King Dred arrives on the scene with a raptor posse of his own.
- Don't get caught up in gameplay mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter.
- Focus on the three S's: style, story and scale.
Jedoga ShadowseekerWho among you is devoted? You there! Step forward!
Jedoga Shadowseeker, the third boss in Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom, is a female Orc from the Twilight's Hammer clan in the service of Yogg-Saron. Fanaticism, human sacrifice ... These are Shadowseeker's stock in trade. Her power is entwined with the obedience of her minions. When confronted by an enemy, she attempts to sacrifice a Twilight Volunteer to gain Gift of the Herald, greatly augmenting her own power.
To initiate our match, King Dred must clear out Shadowseeker's initial group of Twilight Initiates; you can safely assume that he is able to accomplish this with minimal effort and damage. Learn how the priestess calls upon and sacrifices her Twilight Volunteers during battle, and review comments from players who've battled Shadowseeker in the depths of Ahn'kahet.
King DredKing Dred raises his claws menacingly ...
King Dred, the great Devilsaur, is found within Drak'tharon Keep. His vicious attacks are augmented by those of the smaller raptors he calls to his aid during battle.
- Bellowing Roar
- Fearsome Roar
- Grievous Bite
- Mangling Slash
- Piercing Slash
- Raptor Call
- King Dred also "raises his claws menacingly," after which he performs all three of his bleed effects in rapid succession.
Read more about the Devilsaur's battle tactics, and look over comments from players who've faced him in Drak'tharon Keep.
The smackdown
As usual, you should assume that overall, the foes share similar levels, health pools and a comparative overall damage output. This battle takes place in Ahn'kahet on Jadoga Shadowseeker's turf, although (as noted) we're allowing King Dred to arrive on the scene with enough Raptors to call to his aid during battle.
Raptors and Initiates, priestess versus king ... Who will be left standing at the end? Cast your vote below – and don't forget to come up with a convincing scenario in the comments that will sway other readers to support your outcome.

Seconded

If you'd said "giant maw", it would have been even more illustrative... Although, his claws sure are pretty big as well. :)

King Dred's fear is just too much. No matter where he is, he can safely take remove one of the adds from the fight, and just one of his bleeds is enough to kill it outright. Not to mention his raptor horde, who could probably take all of the volunteers down by themselves.

King Dred arrives to the scene, and accidentally steps on Jegoda before the fight officially starts. Oops!

No massive battles here, he can easily overpower her minions, and then simply run at her and start tearing her apart, she has no way to heal herself so http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=48920 will do a HELL of a lot of damage, besides his over attacks all benefiting each other and doing tremendous damage.
When she uses http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=60029 she will probably kill his raptor buddies, although King Dred is smart enough to summon another straight after it finishes.
(I base that on his emote, "King Dred raises his claws menacingly" revealing a certain feral intelligence").
If she even manages to levitate into the air, he is so big that he could even nip and claw at her in midair, and anyone who tries to sacrifice themselves will crap themselves scared and run like hell from http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=22686, leaving them to be hunted down and picked off by the baby raptors.
She may even die in midair from the massive bleeds, leaving an entire cult for King Dred and the minis to feast on.
All in all she doesn't stand any chance.

I always giggle when I see Dred's macro. He has such short arms.

As cool as think jedoga is. It's a t-rex.
Dred wins.

Hardly seems right if the fear stops the minions from sacrificing themselves, then there's *almost* no point in having them in the first place. No, the fear might look really cool with the whole crowd running around, but we can call the "brain wash effect" leads to a successful sacrifice 2 out of 5 times maybe (I'm giving Fred the foresight to try to down the adds, but maybe he doesn't quite notice in time sometimes and the raptors can't quote get it on their own.)
In the end it's close cause of the magic flying at dred, but he wins out in the end.

I just stopped in to say that this feature is the most pointless I think I have ever seen on WoW.com.
Please stop wasting time and cluttering your front page with it.
Also, Dred wins. Arbitor gives the reasons why.

Dred is King, and this match is no exception.
His sheer size ensures he is able to hit her from anywhere on her little altar. The fear gives him ample time to shred the living daylight out of her chosen volunteer before he reaches the circle. Her beloved Yogg-Saron can't help her here.
She can't heal so the bleed continues to tick away as the other two make it even easier for Dred to put out huge numbers. 5k DPS and you think you're sweet? Dred has that beat.
His raptors may get killed by her nasty little thunderclouds, but he always brings in a few more when they die.
Dred is King.

Whenever Jedoga would try to summon an acolyte, Dred would bend down and eat it. Then he'd eat Jedoga.

King Dred and his Raptors are charging through Zul'Drak, when violent quakes split the earth. Dred spots a small figure, and launches in pursuit...
Jedoga Shadowseeker, giving a sermon, is rudely interupted by a terrified cultist. Quakes have opened the roof, and something...big...is comming.
Dred spies the cultists milling about and changes in, roaring. The cultists are shreded in moments, and a Scytheclaw has followed Dred down. Jedoga Shadowseeker lands, and attacking with all the fury of a priestess of Yogg-Saron. Overmatched, though slaying the smaller Raptor, she levitates and prepares to sacrifice a worshiper. Dred snaps at her, then sees another raptor has joined in, and sees some food near the ground. The "chosen" is devoured by the Devilsaur. Jedoga Shadowseeker lands atop the smaller raptor, and swiftly slays it. Dred raises his claws menacingly and badly mauls the Shadowseeker. She responds with a mighty Cyclone Strike, which sends Dred reeling. Seeing an opening, a cultists is sacrified. Empowered by her god, Jedoga Shadowseeker launches atop Dred, and strikes with deadly precision. Dred, snarling, throws the troublsome Cult Leader to the side, and raises his claws for the killing strike. Jedoga Shadowseeker tries the sacrifice another cultist, but Dred, seeing the small figure, roars with unearthly fury. The very walls of the ancient city tremble, and the cultists flee. Dred turns back to the Shadowseeker, and crushes the life out of her with massive talons. Roaring in triumph, the rest of the Raptor pack enter the ruins, and set off after the terrified cultists. Between the Raptors and the Scourge, none survive. Dred sets of home to Drak'tharon Keep with his pack, well fed from gorging on the Twilight Hammer.
Clydtsdk-Rivendare Jul 3rd 2009 9:35PM
Dred is unable to kill Jedoga's add before she sacrifices it for a high damage buff without using his "menacing" claws.
A subsequent Cyclone Strike would be powerful enough to three-shot Dred and one-shot his adds.
Dred's fear fails on Jedoga and Volunteers (I'm basing this on the fact that Chains of Ice doesn't work either).
Jedoga wins, though she barely survives the bleed effects. Better get someone to tend to those.

King Dred wins, because he's a t-rex.
because if he didn't it'd be totally bogus, right Hobbes?
