Druid was my first toon and it's still my main. Was a bear tank from 0-70, became Boomkin for 70-80 and dual specced into tree. Horde Tauren of course as we took the path least travelled by ;-).
Now with a pally tank/healadin and a frostfire mage as well as a hunter, I find my Boomkin as my main raiding character. He's slightly under DPSs my mage, but my mage doesn't have my Boomkin crit buff and Improved mark of the wild and combat res. I'm beginning to think I'll never get my mage out of Naxx ;-)
Then there's the animal forms. Swimming, stealthed cat and even the bear when I need a little extra armour. But the best is the Flight form. Able to launch immediately and able to pick up things in form (as long as you're grounded). While others may talk DPS or AoE (and got both of those anyway thanks), it's the versatility of the Druid that lets you scream through levelling.
The problem used to be we were a Jack of all trades and a master of none. Now the gap between the pure classes and us is a lot smaller and skill can certainly close that gap and sometimes go past it.
Dual spec made it much easier to be 2 kinds of Druid, but we really need tri, or in fact quad specs. Boomkin, Bear Tank, Melee Kitty, Tree. Of course that would leave very little room in our bags ;-)
