WoW Moviewatch: Gnome Overboard
The story is not complicated. Three men decide to go hunting whales. (A perfectly reasonable thing to do in Northrend, mind you, as the whales there aggro from about a hundred miles away.) Despite their better judgement, the three men are convinced to let a gnome go with them. This proves to be a complete and total disaster, as gnomes are, apparently, filled with curses and spite. They all die.
Gnome Overboard is the resurgence of another favorite aspect of Oxhorn Brand Machinima. His music is creative, fun, and interesting. While I admit the voice in this song seemed to struggle a bit, his lyrics were amusing and cleverly written. On that subject, Oxhorn has also made his music available for purchase on Amazon.com, so if you like his work, you can pick it up fairly easily.

I love Oxhorn and his songs! This one was one of my favorite parts of Inventing Swear Words 5. :D It's nice to see it get its own short.

Off topic a bit...but when will there be another episode of Azerothian Supervillains? Or maybe I should ask will there ever be another episode of Azerothian Supervillains?

meme-ized Gnome hate perpetrated by the self appointed 'cool kids' is getting seriously old tbh.
SaintStryfe Jul 9th 2009 12:45PM
Oxhorn's had it as a running gag for ages, so it's not a problem for him.
A Nonny Mouse Jul 9th 2009 12:56PM
Not really. Oxhorn's getting pretty damn tiresome himself...

Haha! Gnome death is always fun to see!

I love all these guys' work. Inventing Swear Words is a great series and the shorts always seem to reference one of the made up swear words. Another great thing about this vid is I love seeing Bloitting Gnomes get kicked.

Gnome haters!

I hate Oxhorn and his gnome racist movies. I hope the gnomes gather up and tear him apart.

Yea we good folks at the G.C.L.U.(Gnomish Civil Liberties Union) Find this incredilby offensive, but privately I find it funny as heck lol

what is going on at 2:18? No wonder the gnome got punted.

I find the gnome-hating perplexing and disappointing. I think the hate is kind of like the gay-bashing. Most men are seriously afraid they are gnome-lovers and secretly in love with another man so the only way they can restore their self-ego is to resort to bashing gays and gnomes.
As the bard said, "Methinks thou dost protest too much!"
Myf Jul 9th 2009 3:57PM
I think you may have a point there.
Especially considering most the the people obsessed with hating gnomes tend to play big strong mainly Tauren.

It's almost like how a lot of guys find it necessary to hate cats because they see a cat as feminine, and to like something feminine makes you a homosexual /rolleyes

Fun as always, but my favorite remains the Anti-Elf Anthem.
Angelyne Jul 9th 2009 4:55PM
Poor gnomes. I mean I know all they are good for is punting and everything, but even I find this a little harsh!

Ladies and Gentleman. I stand before you, a gnome. I am not a monster. I am not an animal, and yet some would treat me and my gnomish brethren as such.
But let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, I have a dream.
I have a dream where a toon is judged buy the content of his achivements and his dps rather than his stature.
I have a dream where a gnome can walk down the streets of Dalran without fear of riddicule for his bubblegum pink mowhawk.
I have a dream where gnomes are no longer sacrificed to the loot gods just for a better chance at a purple.
So join me, Join me on the streets of Stormwind. Join me in the Halls of Ironforge, and even join me on the dusty streets of Orgrimmar as we march as one, a million gnome nation, wanting nothing more than the respect our dps and mad ganking skills deserve.
