Seconded. Could anybody that agrees with that change or at least understands it explain it for this (and possibly other) feeble-minded shaman? I only came up with Hex or talented Fire Nova totem as a way to interrupt a foe...Grounding Totem only goes so far, what if you need to stop a heal? And that new effect is, again, to me, a little tinsy winsy bit...totally useless in comparison with the interrupt, and very weak otherwise. Maybe if it worked on bossses, don't know about that. It also makes doing the Gundrak machine-gun-interrupt-me achievement little harder, talented (ha...ha...) shaman was a very good interrupter for that fight.

My shammy alt is enh and I'm squeeing really hard about this. The problem with the system as it currently stands is that our two interrupts both share the same CD, and our main is one we can't really use as intended because it's a standard part of our "rotation" (priority system, really) as enhancement shammies. Pretty much every enh shammy has run across the situation where you're fighting a caster, it goes to throw out a nuke, but ES is on CD because you just used it to DPS. So you either throw caution to the wind, or you hold back your ES for that theoretical casting, thus gimping your DPS output. It's a huge pain in the ass. Especially when you're soloing, or in a fail pug where no one else seems to be able to find their stun button and interrupting is falling solely on your shoulders. This change effectively means we'll always have an interrupt at our disposal without really impacting our DPS.This is a buff. A huge one, IMO.

I forgot to add, since it seems you missed it: Wind Shear (neé Shock) is going to be your standard interrupt of choice. It always had that capability, btw. It's just been made infinitely more practical now that it's on its own CD.

As an enh shaman, I'm ambivalent about this. In the past, you had two ways to interrupt a cast: One which caused damage and therefore threat and one which did no damage and reduced threat. So the standard rotation would be 5MW LB>SS>ES>LL. Now the interrupt is taken out of that rotationOf course I admit that when MW was first announced I didn't like how it sounded because I didn't understand the mechanics of it and this might be be a similar error.

Amaxe: Now the interrupt is taken out of that rotationYes, but Wind shear is not on GCD and has the interrupt. You can still do that AND pop Wind Shear if needed to interrupt. On Kel I was doing a lot less DPS because I would hold back an ES to wait for a frostbolt in order to help the tank. Similar fights that need an interrupt handy (Cat lady in Ulduar) will not require holding that interrupt so much.
