Premonition grabs US-First Alone in the Darkness
Yogg-Saron's woes continue, as the Guild Premonition of the US Sen'jin server, Alliance side, becomes the first US guild and the third guild in the world to get the Alone in the Darkness Achievement, thereby also earning the Death's Demise title. Alone in the Darkness requires you to defeat Yogg Saron without the help of any Keepers, thereby eschewing the requisite buffs they give. They're hot on the heels of Paragon, which got the EU first kill, and Stars, which got the world first (and by extension, Taiwan first) kill.
This is definitely a difficult achievement, and, some argue, possibly even harder than killing Algalon himself. Congratulations, Premonition!

Very nice. I can't even imagine actually accomplishing this achievement. Many grats to those in Premonition for pulling it off.

I was doing WC when this happened, the entire chatbox was filled with "Premonition earned the achievement [Realm First! Death's Demise]." Before I was wondering who would be first on Sen'Jin. Anyways, gratz to them for pulling off this almost impossible achievement.

Reported for exploiting flying mounts in Dalaran!
Grats!

He's on Krasus' Landing. Grats to those guys.

Apparently people on Wow.com don't understand attempts at humor. Granted, it wasn't really funny but still...
Teregwynn Jul 12th 2009 11:23PM
Why isn't Ensidia up with these guys. Are they fading into the background?
Nibbles Jul 12th 2009 11:57PM
I believe they went for a summerbreak after getting that Algalon world-first.
Joseph Jul 13th 2009 12:22AM
They haven't been attempting this achievement (at least not hardcore) because they thought that no one would care after Algalon.
Jagoex Jul 13th 2009 1:13AM
They say that they aren't attempting it (which is a lie) because they thought it was impossible, and now they are down-playing it's importance to them just to save face. I have it on pretty good authority, however, that it is causing a bit of intra-guild drama.

Ensidia already had downed Yogg-Saron this lockout when Stars announced their kill, thus they can't implement their strategy yet like all those guilds here do.
Expect Ensidia's kill to pop up next Wednesday/Thursday.
ITQ.Caleb Jul 13th 2009 8:55AM
Hardly believe that when Ensidia already stated that this is a boring encounter, and that they have no importance to them. Pretty much, Ensidia is a bunch of babies who don't like being showed up. If they can't do it, they'll make some stupid math problem saying it's impossible.
All grats to Stars, Paragon, and Premonition. Top guilds, imo.

Of course they're trying to downrate the encounter's importance, since they were beaten to it.

@Treeston
Paragon apparently didn't use Stars' strategy, and it looked like they were pretty creative with it. I don't know about about Premonition.
Grats to Stars, Paragon, and Premonition.

@Treeston
Do some homework before making silly statements like this. Neither Premo nor Paragon used Stars' strat. In fact, Premo did it with only a single hunter in the raid (!) and didn't stack locks (they had the three that they normally raid with).

That mount makes this achievement 100% worth trying. I would love to fly around in that thing...
jam Jul 12th 2009 11:52PM
Grats! At least it didn't go to Exodus.
Lemons Jul 13th 2009 12:43AM
I liked the little speech they gave on MMO-Champion...It's nice to hear a guild explain a bit about the kill in English I can understand.
