Sunday Morning Funnies: If you wannabe
This week's list is short but sweet. Tried and true. We're still missing Disgraph (cries) but most others are present and accounted for.- Check out the latest from LFG.
- NoObz: Who's Up For....
- NPC: Outrage. (I miss my kitties).
- Teh Gladiators: Papa!
- WoW eh: The End of a Memory. Again, I love the artwork. It's always evolving. The armor looks fantastic.
- Check out the latest from Kuo, and be sure to read the description underneath the comic.
- Flintlocke vs. the Horde.
- Vincent checks out Twitter in WoW, and tests the Mountain Dew drinks. Well, at least one of them.
- Society for the Betterment of NPC Characters. Dark Legacy Comics.
- GU Comics: Wannabes.

Yawn. Once again GU fails horribly. Ridiculously horribly. I'm not even going to bother picking apart such stupid reasoning, either.
At least WoW, Eh continues to be complete win, and Kissless is looking hot. xD
splodesondeath Jul 12th 2009 11:26AM
GU is picking at a subject that is so dead.
But I thought everything else that was posted was very good.
(remembering that level of WC3, ugh)

DLC was brilliant again. And so true.

D'aww, shucks Amanda... o^_^o
Glad you like the comics! I had a lot of fun doing the gear re-designs. :D

The chibi-Arthas, Illidan and Varian were adorable. ^_^

A wonderful installment of WoW, eh?. In fact, I enjoyed the whole story arc. It was well written and funny, and as others have said, the artwork just gets better and better.

Dude ... Wait, what? I thought Flintlocke had stopped creating comics to go work for Blizzard, or something along those lines.
As for "WoW, Eh?" - one of my new faves. Hehe.
Keyra Jul 12th 2009 4:25PM
Fargo did stop, but he created the comics well ahead of time to finish out the story and left it to Gamespy to post them. He does occasionally stop by to comment or read the comments, though.

Wow Eh looks like a Saturday morning cartoon. This is a compliment. :D
GU Comics has never been anything but crap and the streak continues.

The two girls (WoW Eh/NPC) have really lost me. When they both first started, it was exactly what people want from WoW comics: One joke funnies. You saw the comic, you laughed, end of joke. Now, both of them are doing LONG, MULTI-PART STORYLINES... and they're just not funny. We don't need to know WoW Eh's character origins/backgrounds... we don't care about NPC's cats.
Just tell jokes. WoW-related jokes. Like your earlier comics. You know, the one's that MADE YOU POPULAR? I honestly never understand why comics make this strategy switch ("Hey, you know that thing we do that our fans love and made us famous? Let's NOT do that, and do something completely different!").

To let you know, I actually am going back to one-shot gag comics. I do enjoy them, but I also enjoy the characters behind Kissless and Cadistra.
Don't mean to be a jerk, but if you don't like the comic, then don't read it.
Disgraph Jul 12th 2009 10:41PM
Damn those girls and their girl parts motivated stories! Why are you making me comics instead of a pie? RAWR!!! Testosterone make better jokes! In the future, I might not go and draw gender lines. Doesn't really paint you in a pretty light.
You know, a comic doesn't have to be all set up and punch lines. Sometimes its nice to get to know the characters too. You can really make the argument for either, but in the end, shouldn't a comic just be entertaining?
devilsei Jul 12th 2009 9:34PM
"Testosterone make better jokes! "
Oh yeah! Testosterone makes everything better, thats why it kills us. We have to have some kind of downside to all that awesomesauce our manly, amazing bodies produce to ensure the survival of the badarsiest!!
I mean c'mon! Bob and George? Man! Megatokyo? MAN! Van Von Hunter?! MEEEEN!! Teh Gladiators?! A-duh! Men!!!
Then obviously there's WoW-eh, Charby the Vampirate, and The Zombie Hunters!!! Which are all made by ME.... oh god...
OH GOD!!!!
Those are made by... WOMEN!!!!!!!
Estrogen how could you?! Not only do you grant the power of life and longevity, but you stole the power of humor as well?!
Disgraph Jul 12th 2009 10:58PM
@devilsei
Uh, was that flame directed at me? Cause I was being sarcastic. It's kinda what I do... I'm pretty sure I even added a line about not playing the gender card...where was it...oh yea
"In the future, I might not go and draw gender lines. Doesn't really paint you in a pretty light."
Maybe I just won't come to the defense of fellow WoW comic artists. Nah. More fun too.
devilsei Jul 12th 2009 11:43PM
Naw, I was being sarcastic Dis, I knew your post was sarcastic, so I posted something as well that was sarcastic. I kinda hoped people would see the ungodly amount of over-exaggeration in the post and get that I was joking. Seriously... who describes testosterone as "awesomesauce" anyways?
I like WoW'eh's comic, don't know who every made the law about Web Comics having to be only humor-based, because there is more than enough room for serious ones. Thats why I listed those comics in my post, both male and female artists, that made funny and/or serious comics.
(As a sidenote, I should probably include smilies in any sarcastic post of mine from now on, might help to differentiate normal from sarcasm when there is no audio involved)
Syme Jul 13th 2009 1:43PM
Thottstation, I had never read WoW, eh? until Cadistra started the story, and it instantly became one of my favorites. I've gone back and read them all, and she does good stand-alone gags, too. It's wonderful that she is talented at both styles and has the characters to make both work.
And if you will take some time to scan the comments here and on her 'site, you might decide not to use the word "we" when expressing your personal feelings.
jurandr Jul 12th 2009 6:23PM
Was that even a blood elf in GU comics? I had a hard time figuring out the race of the thing on the right.
devilsei Jul 12th 2009 9:29PM
Might of been part of the joke. The "elf" didn't really look like a blood elf, but wasn't quite human either (though that could just be part of the style, but honestly that was one uuuugleh elf, looked too man-ish). And the elf was saying "I'm going to become a HORDE paladin" so...
but yeah... wasn't all that funny to me, they seem to be focusing more on art than humor (though honestly, I wish Blizzard would do that, the whole tournament thing isn't funny at all, that way we'd at least have some great armor instead of the hogwash we're seeing now).
Disgraph Jul 13th 2009 12:13AM
Heh, no harm done. Your performance was convincing it was confusing :)
Cru Jul 13th 2009 12:35AM
Love WoW, Eh -as always-. It can be hard trying to tell a story when people come for the chuckles. I know I've caught flak for the more serious pages >_> The list seems short this week. *loud, obvious cough*
