"Wound Poison is the best call for Combat, while Instant Poison reigns for Mutilate.:
Can someone explain to me why you'd want to use Instant Poison with Mutilate? Aren't you nerfing your own Mutilate damage by doing Instant Poison instead of Deadly or Wound (+20% damage to poisoned targets)?
I know for things like Fan of Knives, your poisons will do more damage because Instant hits harder, but for the rest of the time, aren't you doing less DPS? From what I understand, Wound poison has a higher sustained DPS rate than Instant because it procs more.

Muti Rogues typically have Instant on their main hand and Deadly on their off-hand, both for poison specialization and their interaction with Envenom finishers. Instant poison doesn't really become viable until the poison buffing talents are taken in the Assassination tree. Until then, it doesn't proc often enough to do more damage than wound but once it does, it slides past it nicely.
TLDR: Deadly Poison provides "Poisoned target" for you.
