Update: European weekly maintenance extended
Good morning Europe. While many of you are stuck waiting for a large number of realms to finish a lengthy period of extended maintenance, it seems like the rest of us are going to have to wait a little bit longer to get back into Azeroth. Blizzard has announced that, as well as selected realms getting extended maintenance until 3:00pm CEST, all the non-affected realms will continue to be offline until 1:00pm CEST. These realms were originally supposed to go back online around 11:00am CEST. We'll keep you up to date on more developments as they happen.
Update: Blizzard have announced that the following realms will continue to be offline for maintenance until 5:00pm CEST: Auchindoun, Ghostlands, Hellfire, Karazhan, Nagrand, Shattered Halls, Sporeggar, The Sha'tar.

Whoo, time for some not-WoWing.
I expect Magtheridon to be on the Horde-free-transfer-off list for a long time, but how do Blizz select where to put this Horde overflow?
Tumleren Jul 15th 2009 7:16AM
They look at the balance of other servers and select the ones that have too few horde

The fun thing being that the realm status page as usual lists all realms as online. It has done this for quite some time, I have repeatedly mailed Blizzard about this, but it looks like they just do not care.
I wish there was some serious competitor in the market, because I for one am sick of being treated like an addict. Well, I am. But there's a point I'll be getting too pissed at my dealer's negligent behaviour and look for another one.

The Realm status page has never been anything but useless. What good is that thing if it doesn't update in realtime?

You know, I was just like you, being all like "oeh noes! no moar wow for awhileee!" but then, I went outside. You know, there are flowers and butterflies and green thing called grass, too. I also found out a game called 'football' ((or soccer)) it has a ball and two goals and stuff, it was interesting, really!

They should do these things late at night. Might be inconvenient for them, but hey, they get paid for it.
Dude Jul 15th 2009 6:46AM
I meant over a series of late nights, rather than all at once which cuts into the day. Yadda yadda.

I may be wrong (I tend to be), but I have the impressions that we have so longs maintenances times because the european maintenance team is divided in differents GMTs (we have a good range of hour from Spain to Germany). Such lenghty maintenances ALL wednesdays seems weird in comparation with the US servers.
Or maybe our maintenance team is smaller and slower.
Someone have any idea? I'm just feeling it.
Aoeadin Jul 15th 2009 7:17AM
'because the european maintenance team is divided in differents GMTs'
Really? There's more than one Greenwich Mean Time? That's certainly news to me.
