It'd be nice if Bliz had a 40 - 55 button, or re-jiggered some old world zones a-la Mudsprocket. That seems to be the worst doldrums of leveling. BC introduced a few zones to level through, and WotLK continued this 'load up quests, go out, come back turn in' mechanic rather than running all over the old world to get the same number of quests into to get from 40 to 60. Let's be real, by 40 you've gotten your base spells and the classes don't much change from then out. You get talent spells, after 60 you get a few new spells, but you've learned the class mechanics.I think the more heriloom gear the devs put in helps this, mainly because there's crap gear from 40 to 60, unlike the constant upgrades from questing after 60. The less you need to worry about getting level appropriate gear the better.
