It's been a few months since we've posted Craft of War: BLIND, which means we're due to start getting tips about it soon. To try and help head that off, I figured we'd take a moment today and re-watch one of the finest World of Warcraft movies so far. (That being, Craft of War: BLIND by Percula, of course.) While I love the embedded player, if this is your first time seeing BLIND, make sure to watch it full screen.
Some time ago, BLIND's original page had been removed by Vimeo, who had mistaken the animation for being mere "gameplay footage." I'm not exactly sure what game has this kind of footage, but I'd sure as hell like to know. After some wrangling, and then an apology on Vimeo's part, Percula was able to get his smash-hit video back up on the site. (In the mean time, other sites still featured BLIND, so it's not like the film disappeared from the face of the planet.)
BLIND has had an incredible impact on the fanbase. While machinima fans are already familiar with what authors like Soosdon and Selserene can do with the game models and animation tools, the incredible work performed by Percula brought in brand new fans to the hobby. It's worth taking a second look, and enjoying BLIND all over again.
Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an e-mail at machinima AT wow DOT com.
I haven't watched that since it came out, and this is the first time I've watched it since I've started playing Alliance. The city was very foreign to me before, and it seemed much bigger when I first saw Blind. Now, I can recognize all the landmarks and it's very interesting being familiar with this geography that was once so alien.
Wow. first time i've ever seen that and it was EPIC. anyone know where i can download this? i'd rather like to have it on my computer tbh, its that good.
@ Chilblain Please do, I'm sure pictures of that escapade would amuse the hell out of a lot of people, and the ridicule of you would make so many others happy.
Basta&*ds!!! I was SO excited to see something new from Percula when I saw the title on RSS, and then found out it was only a repost... Will still have to watch it a few more times though....
This video is awesome, the music is perfect. I love watching it again and again. Rogues ftw! Three cheers to Percula! I hope he got some attention from potential employers.
Being gone from WoW for a year I had not seen this... and wow! This beats every single piece of machinima I have ever watched. Animations: perfect. Music: perfect. Pace: perfect. Story: perfect. My mouth was open and I had a grin reaching my ears after the first minute.
Thanks for pointing it out, there are still people who haven't seen the stuff like me ;)

As with all of these pos movies. I closed it as soon as the blood elf showed up.

If you think you can do better, we'd love to see your work.

While I also have disdain for Blood Elves, you are doing yourself a great disservice by not watching this video.
I think just about every other video they have posted on here was bad, yet this was a big 10/10, music included :P

DId you cancel your World of Warcraft account when they introduced Blood Elves?
Kashind Jul 17th 2009 1:08PM
That was amazing to say the least.
I now have the tremendous desire to re-roll rogue.

I have the tremendous desire to put on a school girl uniform and pilot a giant mech robot.

I was impressed with the characters themselves...
Those animations were solid.
Do you have to do your own 3-d modeling for moves like that, and if so, did this movie take a year to produce?
wow Jul 17th 2009 3:07PM
Percula extracted the models and textures from the WoW game files.
Existy Jul 17th 2009 1:29PM
Wow, it's like I'm really watching a crappy anime!
Agony Jul 17th 2009 4:45PM
Repeating yourself much?
Jan 10th 2009 8:43PM: "I personally think the anime wannabe video and the crap music are both horrible."
As Keyra said, if you think you can do better, we'd love to see your work.

Doesn't matter what music type is chosen, there will ALWAYS be someone who will hate it. Always.
When YOU can make videos this awesome, then YOU can choose the music.
Chilblain Jul 17th 2009 2:56PM
and when YOU put your video out for the public to see then YOU have to learn to deal with criticism.
If you wear your heart on your sleeve, maybe it's best to keep your fondness for crappy japanese pop music to yourself.

@ Keyra
Agreed. This forum troll has no idea what they are talking about.

... Outstanding video.
