If you're a Mage and you're Tailoring as a profession, I'd recommend pairing it with Herbalism. The two don't benefit from one another, but herbs sell quite well in the AH, there are no tools to take up room in your bags (such as a pick, blacksmiths hammer etc) and Lifeblood will save you from more than a few deaths! You can even use Lifeblood while you're Invisible, because it's not on the Global Cooldown.Mages are pretty squishy if we're cornered/surprised, and since we don't have any healing spells native to our class, we need to prove we can make due and prevail! Lifeblood and Glyph of Evocation. Get them. Heck, it doesn't hurt to keep your First Aid trained, either. *^_^*

There may not be a pick or skinning knife to carry, but those herbs (especially in the old world, where they are more diverse) will take up loads of space!

Very true, but then you just teleport to a city with an AH and sell them all :) I was speaking more like that one little space in your bag that's always filled with a tool. You're right though, in the old world there are tonnes of Herbs! And now that more herbs drop when you pick them, it can take up space rather quickly. It's the same for any gathering prof, though.
