World of WarCrafts: Nominate your favorite WoWCraft for upcoming book

It's chic to be geek -- and World of WarCrafts has some of the coolest geek chic around, according to the author of an upcoming book on geek crafts. She's looking for a World of WarCrafts project to include in an upcoming crafts title to be published by Chronicle Books ... And you, our readers, get to help select the featured project!
"The book is a collection of 25 original geek craft projects from Star Trek to comics -- and WoW," writes Susan Beal, author of crafting favorites Button It Up, Bead Simple and Super Crafty. "We're so excited to spotlight a reader-chosen favorite project from WoW.com's World of WarCrafts in the collection!" The creator of the selected project will receive a copy of the book, plus full credit and a bio in the book.
The selected project creator will need to submit a written how-to and any templates or patterns for their project. (Crafting 101-style details, such as how to crochet, aren't necessary; readers will be referred to recommended sites or books to learn the basics.) Creators must be able to mail their creations and instructions to Beal for a photo shoot, to be received no later than Aug. 20. Projects will be returned after they're photographed for the book.
Nominate your favorite World of WarCrafts project
Here's where you come in. We need to know what you think is our best World of WarCrafts project! Take a scroll through all our past projects, then post a comment with a link to the creative effort you think would best represent World of WarCrafts in a book on crafting. One nomination per reader, please. We'll have to contact the creators to make sure they're willing and able to participate – but we'd like the WoW.com community to have a voice in what we send off to represent WoW crafts to the geek crafters of the world.

Murbeans! Seriously!

The bleached shirts! :D They seem fairly easy to do, and don't require a lot of extras be purchased.

@Zalvi - I'm not sure what one has to do with the other, but they are nice. And all the things you would have to buy to do these (the glue stuff and paper), could be used to do a shirt from any other fandom the crafter may may enjoy. :)
Heck, the skills picked up making the shirts could be applied to any other piece of clothing or fabric! Jeans, jackets, hats. Get a nice heavy solid color piece of cloth (like fleece), make sure the edges are hemmed, and you can make yourself an old fashioned wall-hanging/tapestry. As complicated or as simple as you like. :)

I'm quite partial to the slime monster one, it had a "how-to" thing I know, but the best part about it is that not only is it a great War-craft project, it would also make a great thing for Halloween or anything else.

I really liked this one - kinda like FigurePrints for those that can't afford it.

Agree, It's nice and cheap way of having your character in the real world! :D

Hands-down, it's this:

But for sheer cuteness...

I can't believe I forgot about that! It wasn't marked under War-crafts so I didn't see it... darn... :(

This by a country mile imo.

Aww, just one? It's too hard to pick! Mine's a toss up between the Light switch covers:
http://www.wow.com/2008/04/24/world-of-warcrafts-light-switch-cover/
and the Super Potions:
http://www.wow.com/2008/04/10/world-of-warcrafts-super-potions/
Both are really different, and similar to devilsei's idea, that they are both WoW based, but can be used for other projects as well!

There are way to many good ones to nominate just a few.
Murky plush is quality, and the Ghoul doll is awsome.
I think the troll action figure is the "best", but it looks like a professional figure, not a "World of Warcrafts" type of item IMO, so i would disclude it from the nominations IMO.
'Sorry, you did to good of a job'. >.

Did this one and it turned out great and when everyone saw it I got so many responses and they all loved the looks of it.

This one especially because it really seems like something almost anyone could do well and it would be good for kids with a little adult help.

Anyone else not able to look past the size and whiteness of that fingernail tip besides me?

It's a French Tipped nail, imo. Something girly.
ash Jul 19th 2009 10:19PM
Yeah, the Murky and the zombie are pretty cool. It should probably be one of those, although I still hold a soft spot for the plushy voidwalker.
Aurix Jul 19th 2009 10:19PM
Cuddle me Yoggy! Totally.

Both are utterly adorable, but the crochet boomkin is magnificent!
