Paid character transfers time restrictions slashed

This is especially useful for raiders and PvPers who move to a new realm to join a guild, and then find out that the guild doesn't work for them. There are also tens of thousands of horror stories about people moving between servers only to find that their new guilds disbands a few days later. This will be a significant boon to people who find themselves in that situation.
The cost of the paid character transfers remain at $25 for a one way ticket.

Or if you want to start over in your own realm you move your character and move him back with a new name, no one will have you on friends/guild/mail whatever list

Wow, spending $50 to wipe yourself from people's friends list?
a) Don't ninja stuff and you won't get a bad rep
b) You can't be seriously wasting your own money doing this crap, can't you find a better way to spend $50 of your daddy's money?
c) /mindboggle

Not me, my reputation is fine.. I heard about people paying over $500,00 for a mount... so maybe they could try this

50 dollars buys you more money than you can snitch from a guildbank. And since you're a retard already if you do this, you might as well go all the way, and hopefully get yer account hacked in the meantime.

1) Delete your character.
2) Make a character with the same name.
3) Ticket a GM saying you did it when drunk.
4) ???
5) Profit

I think the point some of you are missing is that there willalways be assholes who do shady things and Blizzard has simply made it easier for people to be shifty. Sure it's a waste of money, I agree there, but there are always people who are willing to WASTE money... especially people trying to hide their shifty past.

Why doesn't blizz just ask for donations.

Why ask for donations when you could make your stockholders happy instead?

This will work well with the faction transfers when they come out. =)
In my case I'll need to take advantage of both features. Hopefully (though I'm not holding my breath) there will be a discounted rate for both, or better still the faction transfer will include a server move.

I was hoping they would allow a server transfer if/when you change factions. If someone who goes through all the work of finding a compatible guild and is willing to play for the transfer, you would hope Blizzard throws them a bone and lets them take advantage of one of the features for free if you are paying for the other.

Yep I'll be moving my 80 AND changing factions. The reason? Found an awesome amazing guild...Seriously considering moving my level 69 Hunter as well...
Things I am curious about (which will be answered at a later time I am sure...): what stuff you can bring with you, ie. if you have a guild does whole gb transfer as well. How much gold can you take with you. Can you bring heirlooms. How will rep work...I am sure these could also be answered by current transferees, but since I will be changing faction it does bring them up again...
But until Blizz releases info on the specifics (like my above wonderings and a ton other questions people have) I can only wait, and hope it is easy and a smooth transition.

Kole, since you're not allowed to take your guild/build bank with you when you transfer servers it seems unlikely you could do so when you change factions. Sure, from a technical standpoint it's easier if it stays on the same server, but I think it's a policy thing, to limit how much wealth you can transfer.

This would be tremendous. They almost have to combine the transfers for those of us on PvP servers or who which to transfer to a pvp server, and change factions.
I, for instance, rolled a dk on a friends server and plan to bring my main over after faction changes are available. So I have characters of opposing factions on my main's server, and my friend's server... I would have to transfer to a completely seperate realm and then to my friend's in order to avoid the "opposing factions on the same server" conflict for pvp servers. I just couldn't afford that.

I really hate the phail reply button!
Dreadskull Jul 20th 2009 2:00PM
Not to mention they can potentially make 10x the money they normally would off of this.
I'm betting the crummy economy is partially helping them churn out more ways to get money faster.
MechChef Jul 20th 2009 3:23PM
Potentially, yes. Likely, no. Most sane people won't to swap servers EVERY 3rd day.
Jonathan Jul 20th 2009 2:03PM
cool I guess.. thought about moving my char that I'm leveling over to a PvP server for some excitement. My first toon but it's only lvl 40.. but $25 damn ouch.. I guess I should just level an alt up hah
