The question above about how it works is the critical part here, and possibly its biggest flaw.Every player for each toon he has will have have to make the choice to extend his/her Raid ID every week before reset. So it will be a personal choice you will have to make each week. For top 5k Raiding guilds: This will be great. There is no downside. Raid Leader tells everyone to do it on a particular week, and the focus is on progression. For the 5k-12k guilds. There could be some drama here. These guilds typically have very serious raiders, and some who are more casual. I see the more serious folks wanting to progress at a certain point, while the more casual members will want to gear up.For the guilds not in the top 12k, there will probably be little incentive to extend most weeks. So it will probably be a good thing for these folks as they have a choice they didnt have before. What about PUGS... take this example.A guild raid forms on Monday evening to clear Naxx25. The guild is 5 short, so they PUG a few in to fill. The run goes long for whatever reasons, and it gets to their normal end time of 11pm and they are just getting to Sapph. The Raid Leader calls it and asks everyone to extend. All the guild members do and log. The PUG'rs are like no way.. they head back to Dalaran, grab a bunch of last minute emblem collectors and head back in and clear the place. The guild goes back in on Tue night to find the place empty and they can't run the place for an entire week. Hmm lets hope there are safeguards on this plan...

I agree with this. My guild is made up of both casual and serious raiders, though some of the casual ones can be serious too :P We currently can clear through Vezax in a night (granted no connection problems or people being dumb) but never get any shots at Yogg. We have a second raid night set during the week, but can never get the people to fill the raid. I would love to be able to extend it just so we could have a raid night of maybe getting Yogg down on the next normal raid night. They key is though, I'm not sure if the rest of the guild is looking at it this way too. I could see quite a few maybe just wanting more purples....Hopefully no drama ensues :)

i thought i remembered reading that there are safeguards. You can remove the extension from the previous week and start a new one midweek that will end the next tuesday. So if you have 2 bosses left on a sunday night, you can extend it, kill them on wednesday, then reset it for yourself and start a new one for that week.
