Except it's not always about the gear. It's a lot about education. We have now cleared Naxx, but we spent several nights beating our heads against Gluth and Grobb. Gluth - how do I convince everyone to not drop circles in the middle of the floor. Gluth - who do I use to tank the adds? A holy pally? Should he respec to prot, or does he last longer with his more powerful holy heals? Or what about the DK? He can slow better, or maybe I should just assign a mage to help slow. Do I put my priest back there to heal, or a shammy with earthbind totems, even if the priest is a stronger single-target healer? Oh, and Heigen, which is the perfect example of this - how do I teach an entire guild to dance?
Yeah, I can (and do) watch tankspot. But we're casual, and I never have a perfect raid make-up - I have the 10 people that we have on. Some of them have cleared the content a dozen times in pugs, some have never been in Naxx before. So we have to learn. And that takes time and wipes.
