My rogue just hit 80 this week. I'm finding weapon options to be very limited. I'm a casual player with a toddler at home. As such I RARELY have the time or opportunity to raid, and by the time I logon after my toddler is in bed most people are done with the heroic daily and any heroics they want to run. So I have trouble finding heroic groups. I'm a combat rogue, been leveling with swords. It seems the only weapon options for a casual player currently in the game are crafted daggers, expensive (and never seen) BoE epics on the AH, or the maces from the Argent Tournament. I think the Mace Specialization talent is about the worst thing in the combat tree. What options are there for me other than waiting for 3.2 and hoping that Argent Tournament will add some decent rogue weapons?

Without heroic groups and no time to raid, I don't see how you're ever going to get decent weapons. However, if you can get into a Naxx pug for a little while or learn how to go Assassination you'll pick up some decent daggers from Heroic Halls of Stone, or the heroic badge rewards. There is a decent sword from Wyrmrest Accord reputation, and there are other decent blue swords to get.
Do yourself a favor and start practicing with daggers, and possibly use those as an offspec. Unless you have access to decent gear through raiding, rogues tend to spec around their weapons. We basically pick anything up and use it. Also, in 3.2, be on the lookout for axes. Grind up those reputations, as the only thing better than those are at the Argent Tourney and in heroics.
