Around Azeroth: À l'orange
Bagarà of <Ronin> on Kor'gall-EU sent in this colorful pic of the Gymer quest in Zul'Drak. According to my middle school art teacher, contrasting color sets are supposed to evoke emotion in the viewer. Specifically, he said that blue and orange make a person feel hungry, which is why that combination is used in many fast food restaurants. I don't know if that's true or not, but this picture makes me less hungry and more concerned that the University of Florida will again dominate in football this year.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, gold seller ads with dead gnomes, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran.

We have Tebow back this year, so your concerns are valid.
Go Gators!

This is by far the worst recurring column on this site.
yokumgang Jul 24th 2009 10:43AM
Then don't read it.
Duh.
elfennau Jul 24th 2009 10:46AM
Don't like it, don't read it. I think personal censoring went out with personal responsiblity. :/

hmmm... must be something about blue and orange.
florida will probably win the NC, boise state will probably go undefeated again, and i'll probably go grab a burger after viewing that screenshot.

I thought Red was the color that made people hungry...
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_colors_make_you_hungry
Blue makes you docile, sometimes sad.
Mep Jul 24th 2009 10:57AM
And I believe orange is supposed to make you uncomfortable, and angry...
Carigon Jul 24th 2009 11:38AM
I know that orange in general evokes feelings of hatred within me... Auburn, University of Florida, Tennessee, Clemson... nearly any team I hate wears that damn color with pride.
Go dawgs

Orange and blue are "contrasting" colors, but they actually called "complementary" colors. (Sorry, I can't help it. I'm going to be an art teacher.) On another note, I have never heard of blue and orange making people hungry.

I just wanted to comment in reply to that jackass Kelvincold.
I read this website all the time and have for a long time now, and this is my very favorite column on this website.
I love taking ingame photographs as well, although I don't have any as cool as this picture.
It's really a great image. I saved it.
Kelvincold, if you're too feeble to appriciate this artwork, don't bother looking at it, just go and drone on in your dull, gray little world.
Dightkuz Jul 25th 2009 2:37AM
You consider this art? Woah, alright then.
Chris Anthony Aug 4th 2009 10:18AM
Sorry, Dightkuz. De gustandibus non est disputandum.

It's the colors red and yellow that induce hunger - look at many fast food logos. It's my day job to know these things (marketer), so take my word for it.
