The movie was always going to be told from the ALLIANCE side, and i haven't seen anything suggesting blizzard plans to change that. Sorry to crush your hopes Mike. Also if you think about it, if they want to interest a decent number of non-warcraft players/fans, it would be a bad business decision to base the movie on creatures no1 can relate to (aka the horde). It needs to be Human focused to bring in the non wow crowd.

You don't see many movies, do you?

I dunno why this guy got downrated, Blizzard said themselves they were making it from an Alliance influenced POV, doesn't mean Horde is BAD/EVIL, just that, for this first movie at least, things are going to be portrayed as happening to the Alliance, but I'm sure there will be orcs/trolls etc. Sorry hordies :P just make sure you see it 40 times if it's good and the sequel can be from the horde's POV.For Lordaeron!

Down rated for posting a fucking fact quoted by blizzard. Makes you wonder about people who read this...

Not a flame or anything, but where did blizz say that the film will definately be from the Alliance POV?I think the reason this has been down rated is less because of the blizz facts, and more because people regularly relate to non-human characters (Ewoks, ET, Guinea Pigs, Shrek Disney films in general). If half of the players of wow chose to roll horde, then they must be able to relate to them somehow...Ofc nothing would stop Bruce being Varian Wrynn in an Alliance POV film. All depends on why Raimi has in mind for the film- if he wanted to do a Horde POV film I doubt Blizz would stop him, although the additional budget requirements of everyone needing more prosthetics might.

While I don't agree with the idea that people don't relate to the non-humans, I would bet that hollywood agrees with this take. Why do you think SF/Fantasy movies still get such a hard time? And the ones that make it through, half the time, are the ones where it's easier to make the connection to the characters -despite- the SF/F elements. Example - the X movies, Spider man, etc.
