The Guild comic book, and other news from the SDCC panel
The Guild's Twitter account is tweeting up a storm from the panel about our favorite Internet series at Comic-Con, and there's a whole downpour of news already. Probably biggest is the news that Dark Horse Comics will be publishing a comic book featuring characters from Felicia Day's show, penned by none other than Ms. Day herself. Details are still hard to find (there's no mention of the book yet on DHC's site), but we presume it'll be about the real-life personas of The Guild folks, rather than a story about their characters. That'll be interesting to see.Other news from the panel is that Season 3 is coming soon, and it'll feature a special guest: Mr. Wil Wheaton, former Star Trek annoyance (sorry, I didn't like him at all), and current geek icon. Apparently they showed a sneak peek at the panel and a Jed Whedon-directed music video (featuring Vork spanking Codex and Tink dancing?), so as soon as we see either of those, we'll be posting them here.
And finally, apparently Jeff Lewis (a.k.a. Vork) has announced that he'll be marrying his wife in the game, though we have no idea if that's a joke or not. With these Guild guys, you can never tell. Lots more news about season 3 to come, we're sure, and of course we'll see all of these folks at BlizzCon -- here's the interview we did with them last year. We've got at least one contact on the ground at Comic-Con this week, so stay tuned for more news from San Diego, too.

I thought Wheaton was really annoying while he was on the show. Too...Cousin Oliver.
Reading his blog in recent years has really improved my opinion of him though.

Thanks to WoW.con i am now a guild addict. Discovered this show a few days ago and laughed myself silly.
Poor Codex/ Cyd.. I honestly feel her character is only neurotic from dealing with her guildies. It's not the game it's the playas in this instance. The only reason she needs to get away from the keyboard is to get away from them.
Got to say though every woman on The Guild is a looker.. for those going WHAT?? Yes I think Clara is cute as hell. Her character though.. is probably one of the worst moms Ive ever seen therefore repulsive.
Tinks hot, but her character is a total bitch.
And Felicia Day.. oh drool since her days on Buffy.

The guild comic will be about the in-game characters, according to the panel, and how the events of the show affect their game time. It was described as "a new type of fantasy comic."
Unless someone was *very* subtly filming the videos (it was a small conference room, from the back of the room I could see most everyone.), you won't be able to see them until they release them on august 25th through xBox live (shortly afterward, they'll be on youtube.) Season three looks wonderful, and the music video had me in tears, for laughing so hard.
Jeff asked Felicia if it was okay that he make the "wedding" announcement, and she replied "Oh yeah, that's fine." It seemed genuine. All in all the Guild panel was one of the best panels I've been to in years. Felicia Day really knows how to work the crowd, and the surprises were actually that, and not confirmed rumors, which is the standard. Jeff (Vork) is both dry and charming, and the others seemed kind of shy.
Fans of the show should check out Sandeep's (Zaboo) other webshow, "The Legend of Niel." It's not MMO-based, rather "Zelda-y" and certainly NSFW or family-friendly. Felicia Day makes a guest spot!
In regards to the other post about DC's selling the gold "replicas" (they are actually made of 24 karat gold, sterling silver and copper) with each one having a different design on them (that picture does NO justice.) that was the only thing that managed to get the crowd excited until the end when they "gave away" a spectral Tiger loot code that you could only redeem if you had written it down, after having been on screen for all of maybe a collective two minutes. The code was around twenty characters long. All in all, a disappointing panel, and the lack of Blizzard's presence on the exhibit hall was disappointing to more than many people. We understand saving stuff up for Blizzcon, but give us comic-con goers SOMETHING, or at least hold Blizzcon at a different time of year. Most of us can only afford one or the other, in such a short time span.
