Breakfast Topic: Who do you want to see in the Expansion?
So a while back, I asked you what races and organizations you'd want to see show up in the next expansion. But while races and organizations bring a lot of flavor and purpose to an expansion, there's nothing like a good charismatic figure to really stir things up. Be it Garrosh or Varian, Bolvar or Brann Bronzebeard, the figures of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion have certainly done a lot to inform the story and drive discussion and debate in lore. With that in mind, I've been thinking of who I'd like to see take a starring role in a future expansion. Turalyon and Alleria are definitely the biggest stars I can think of who have yet to make an appearance. I'd love to see them come back through a portal from whatever world they're on, with all the drama that would bring. Does Turalyon still hold a grudge against the orcs for the death of Lothar? What will Alleria think of the Blood Elves and of what her sisters have been up to?
Of course, there's the minor characters too. Grand Admiral Jes-Tereth is probably one of my favorite storyless NPCs. I'd love to see her in action, commanding Stormwind's fleet or fighting back, say, a massive invasion of Naga. I don't know why I adore her so much. Perhaps I just like a woman in uniform. Either way, I want to see her step on stage.
By the same token, I'd actually rather like to see Lieutenant General Andorov, or Lieutenant General Burlychest, as my raid affectionately called him, make a return. A big muscular dude with no shirt and two axes wading into an unstoppable army of bug men while yelling manly things at the top of his lungs is basically what fantasy fiction is all about, and it's a shame that this guy is a one-off character. If you keep him affiliated with the Cenarion Circle, it's a perfect opportunity to have him fighting the Nightmare of the Emerald Dream, or you could make him a member of the Alliance's 7th Legion and have him at the front lines of nearly any major lore battle, with his chest glistening manfully and his axes singing.
What about you? Whether it's an old NPC who hasn't gotten much attention lately, a character from the books or d20 system that hasn't shown up in ages, who would you like to see that the spotlight in the continuing story of World of Warcraft?

There is one big badass and his name is Admiral Proudmore. Man I cant wait for him to come cursing through some portal and stirring up the Alliance-Horde war is a big way. SLAY THEM ALL!

Guildenstern Jul 26th 2009 9:16AM
Uhhh....you might be waiting a LONG time on that one. :(
Durane Jul 26th 2009 10:19AM
You realize THE Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore died not long after the Third War at Rexxar's hands, right? His son, Tandred currently is the leader of Kul'Tiras and lacks his father's courage. Also, most of Kul'Tiras joined Jaina at Theramore once the Lord Admiral was slain.
I'm assuming that this portal you speak of is bringing him from the past.

I think another Goblin city would be cool. I'd make it in the middle of the sea like an oil rig or something, like from the Warcraft games (forgot which one). It would be a neutral city and there would probably be something special to it, like maybe another auction house thats both alliance and horde can buy and sell from. I would make goblins and some other race playable cuz that's always a plus. OH and i'd really like to see some new classes blizz. Change up the game a little bit and put some brand new classes in with the new races. New classes would bring a fresh feel to the game and keep players interested. Just gotta figure out what those classes would be. Hmmm maybe some more hero classes?!?!?! Idk just my opinion.
Kcirreda Jul 26th 2009 9:15AM
the picture reminded me, really want people from Kul'Tiras to have more of a role than they already do. Anything from a small questchain to them starting up a battleground with the horde.
Cetha Jul 26th 2009 9:27AM
I'll tell you who I DO NOT want to see is Hemet Nesingwary, his son, or any other trumped relative that blizzard can come up with just to justify me spending more time slaughtering random wildlife.

I know what we all want to see out of an expansion........ 61 talent pointers! Only this time I'm not going to be so stupid when they say "Oh we can still change those one month into the expansion" Dispersion is still in my tree GC!!!! -.-
On a side note I'd love to see the ethernals make a comeback, maybe even see their own city. Wouldn't that be awesome!
Also more single player content please, I log on and have nothing left to do.

I'd like to see more done with Fandral Staghelm. Maybe he could try to make a power grab by bringing Tyrande up on charges based on her release of Illidan and the slaughter of his keepers. Maive could come back and ally with him and he could put her in Tyrande's place as High Priestess, as this is was the position she felt she was cheated out of anyway. Then we get Malfurion out of the Emerald Dream and he can come and rally the Cenarion Expedition against the Cenarion Circle which has been corrupted by Fandral. Seriously, the Night Elves really need some shaking up and this whole Fandral thing has been building for a while now. A Night Elf civil war would be really cool, and could be involved with the whole problem with the Emerald Dream and reintroduce some really interesting characters.
Oh yeah, and even though I play Alliance I'd really love to see Garona back in action.
Guildenstern Jul 26th 2009 9:56AM
Garona's doing her thing in the WoW comics.
...Albeit that thing she's doing is kind of lame, but still. She's in there!
Irem Jul 26th 2009 10:38AM
Gah, poor Garona. And why the pigtails? Why, Blizz?
vanye111 Jul 27th 2009 1:41PM
Because female orc rogues with pigtails are sexy. Damn sexy.
(why yes, my gf plays a female orc rogue with pigtails. why do you ask?)
themightysven Jul 26th 2009 9:53AM
if it's Maelstrom (which seems very likely) I want a Floating dungeon or raid. Like a big Dreadnaught sailing in a predictible route around the great sea that you have to find, catch up with, then board before taking it on. Pirates anyone?
Laughtrey Jul 26th 2009 9:59AM
Everyone downgraded my 'horde bring nothing to the table' comment. When was the last time the Horde gave up one of their cities to be used as a sanctuary? So far the Draenei and the Humans have both donated a city to the cause. Varian Wrynn is a piece of crap, but he keeps getting provoked by Garrosh after spending months as a slave. If Thrall really wanted to do something he would have gotten rid of Garrosh by now. Thrall only considers peace between Humans and Orcs because Jaina didn't destroy his city and his people.
Balls in your court Horde, Alliance is kinda up on you right now.
Doonami Jul 26th 2009 10:13AM
During the Battle for Undercity/Wrathgate quest chain. Refugees all over Orgrimmar while it was phased.
4STR4STALeatherBelt Jul 26th 2009 10:19AM
Sorry but you're totally wrong there pal. Shattrath was a wreck of a city with a handful of the Aldor Priests squatting in it when the Naaru came along. It was certainly not a case of the Dreanei "giving up a city". Nor Dalaran, they declared independence from the Alliance, so nobody "gave up" anything.
And as the other guy said, the Orcs take in the majority of the entire Forsaken population during the Battle for Undercity events. This despite the fact a lot of Orcs don't trust the Forsaken as far as they could throw them.
Laughtrey Jul 26th 2009 10:39AM
I'd hardly count taking in members of your own faction a move like giving up Dalaran or Shattrath.
Shattrath may have been in ruin, but with how they treated the Scryers it's a given they didn't want to give it up lightly, and only did so because it would help against the legion.
Dalaran was always the Humans Quel'Thalas. It was a major major Human city, Alliance or not.
Kylenne Jul 26th 2009 11:37AM
...you do realize that Dalaran technically left the Alliance to become independently neutral, right? Read Lands of Conflict. They may still be more friendly with the Blue team (as see, but they were neutral even before this nonsense with Malygos sprung up. The Alliance didn't "give up" a damn thing with that. That's like saying the Alliance graciously "gave up" Silvermoon City to the Horde. Not only that, while the Kirin Tor were loyal to Lordaeron, they took the long view. Antonidas studied the Orcs enough to know that when they were not under the influence of Mannoroth, they could be reasoned with, and he tried to find a cure for their lethargy despite everyone else telling him it was a waste of time. Dalaran was hardly gung ho to fight Horde 2.0 even while it was still a member of the Alliance.
But, if you really want to go there with this foolishness, the simple fact is that the Horde hasn't "given up" a city because we just don't have that many as compared to Alliance. Just about all the Horde cities currently in the game are in use by players, you just don't see places like Stromgarde on our team because the simple fact is our history in Azeroth is comparatively short. But, hey, you're totally welcome to use that one random troll town in the mountains.

The cinematic before playing,it could show you as a human wandering and then a wolf bites you,you feint then wake up as a worgen, cinematic ends and you start playing.
i think they should have pandaren as aliance(alliance arent asposed to get furries, they are part of the horde)
Candina@WH Jul 26th 2009 10:04AM
"The Razing of Stormwind" as the next scripted event al la Undercity/Wrathgate.
Swashbuckler Hero Class
More lore on the Bloodsails vs. the Steemwheedle cartel.
