WoW Moviewatch: Alliance vs. Horde - Episode 2
BroncoTV has really been doing a great job providing interesting videos for the World of Warcraft community. They've just released the new episode in their Alliance vs. Horde series, in which they examine the differences between Azeroth's factions to great comedic effect.
Alliance vs. Horde - Episode 2 focuses on one of the fundamental aspects of WoW game play -- how we group. The Alliance dwarf is eager to go plumb the depths of an instance, while the Horde character is more interested in personal, individual achievement.
Michael Davis and Michael Schroeder are working hard to keep their series "balanced," to avoid out-of-character bias for or against one faction or another. I definitely appreciate the effort, especially since they seem to do a good job keeping their protagonist "true to form." They don't seem to need to adjust the characters' behavior just to suit the joke; instead, both characters seem consistent across the two episodes. I think there's a lot of art that goes into that balancing act, and I tip my hat to BroncoTV for pulling it off.

I thought episode 1 was funnier but this one was good too. Of course I am Horde.

Same here.
P.S: "Strenght in numbers" is actually a subtle critic to the alliance, because it's a common belief that in most realms alliance has more population than horde, but horde has more skilled players than the alliance to compensate their lower numbers.
Therefore, if Horde wins in pvp, it's because they play better. If Alliance wins, it's because they are too many. Obviously this isn't exactly true in most cases, but it's a fun clichè.

Wish the horde in my battlegroup were skilled. We all just run around like idiots in BGs now.

@Mackgyver
In short the Horde on your server act like Alliance?
I think the old Flintlocke Guide to Azeroth had it right with the comic of the Horde players all going AFK... and the Alliance won 3-2

I think most of the PVP on my server (US:Azjol-Nerub) tends to end terribly. Most I remember is thus:
Alliance scatters with no team work at all (=alliance lose)
Horde organizes from the beginning (=Alliance lose)
Alliance completely outnumbers Horde (=Alliance win)
Alliance toon meets Horde toon 1v1 (50% chance of win)
Notice the extreme balance towards the Horde for PvP. On the other hand, Horde on AJ tend to get too tied up in the "For The Horde" mentality. The Alliance compensate for this by having an entire army of school-age, ego-tripping, Napolean syndrome-suffering jerks for group leaders.
/sarcasm on
Yeah, I can't see the appeal of Horde at all...
/sarcasm off

That's great... Watched both episodes, and I found them both really funny. I'm hoping they make more episodes... soon. :)

Excellent video - and so true (from my alliance perspective). Keep up the good work!

Most of the time, actually, Horde get pwned one on one. I've never lost to a Horde unless - I'm fighting three mobs, I have half or less health, or there are at least three...
muffin_of_chaos Jul 28th 2009 8:00PM
Horde players aren't "mobs." Unless...wait...
Do you believe that the NPCs hanging around various low-level outposts are considered Horde?
Yeesh.
I pity the Alliance for the average skill level of their player base. A lot.

Holy generalizations, Batman!

The idea that alliance players have less skill simply b/c of their choice of faction is just narrow mindedness and childish really. I know just as many skilled alliance players as horde, however the allys i know are much less obnoxious, and so i rolled alliance.
btw It was hard finding a pvp sever without being totally overpopulated by horde so idk what the video is talking about when it says strength in numbers.
