It IS a lot faster. I'm playing a Warrior alt right now, with the Valor shoulders, Reaper(w/ Crusader), trinkets, etc, and she's a BEAST.
I ganked Hogger solo at 8 (+3 levels and elite!) without much trouble.
The thing is, with Warriors, and Paladins, they are HEAVILY weapon dependant. Having a highly tuned and effectively grossly OP weapon, given that levelling toons typically have no access to blues at all and are lucky to be using a green a few levels below them, and the RARE blue is often poorly itemized and/or a few levels below them.
Is this bad? I say, no. It's a reward for having an 80, and working hard to get the emblems/shards required to get all that gear. If you don't want levelling to be so easy, then it's really simple: Don't use the heirlooms.
Personally, I don't find levelling without this gear any harder, just slower. I know the areas very well already, know exactly what to do and were to go. It's ridiculously easy for me to level toons even with only using very sub-par greens.
I just appreciate the speed, and honestly there's still challenge if you want it. My warrior never fights anything that isn't red to her, so I'm still bandaging after every fight. It just *feels* more epic - rather than struggling against creatures my level, I'm going tooth and nail against critters that would have plastered my old toons all over the wall.
heh interestingly, I never liked levelling warriors before but didn't know why. Why is simple: Using a crappy weapon gets you crappy dps which limits your rage which leaves you not doing much of anything.
Using a bitching-ass weapon gets you lots of rage, and which makes for much more fun play IMHO.
