BlizzCon pre-sale starts Wednesday

If you were lucky enough to go to last year's BlizzCon, you'll know that the lines for the shop were insanely long. People stood for hours in them waiting to get their merchandise. That meant a lot of time away from all the rest of the exhibits, and a lot of frustration if you just gave up waiting in line for three hours.
This year things are being done a bit differently, in that you'll be able to preorder all the stuff you want and have it shipped right to your home. There are a lot of special BlizzCon only items, so it's worth taking a look
The pre-order online sale will begin this Wednesday at 10:01 a.m. PDT / 1:01 p.m. EDT. It will last for 48 hours, which means it ends on Friday at 10:01 a.m. PDT / 1:01 p.m. EDT. If you know what you want to buy before you get to BlizzCon, take advantage of this and do it now. I know that I'm going to pickup a poster I wanted.
Because I really need to make my office more nerdy. Seriously.
The announcement email and additional details after the break.

I, of course, am not going to Blizzcon. But I wanted to look at the stuff.
SteelSeries 5C Limited Edition Wrath of the Lich King - $49.95 seriously??? The description reads like a mouse pad. Really??? $50 for a mouse pad?
t0xic Jul 31st 2009 5:36PM
If you have money to burn on BlizzCon I'm sure you can afford a $50 mouse pad.

Awsome! My guildmates were telling me that this was the first thing I need to do after the opening ceremony. I won't have to bother with it now! Yay!

Perhaps this is self-evident but...
for the purpose of this promotion are people who buy the pay-per-view considered "attendees" or not. I assume not, but you never know.

Seconded - I pretty much got it just to watch if I have spare time and get the nifty pet, but if there's an opportunity to order interesting collector's items it would be neat - and keep it from just being Luck deciding who gets to send Blizz more $.

Like to point out:
'will have the opportunity to purchase select BlizzCon 2009 store merchandise online'
Can see this being the more expensive and the bigger stuff, so you will likely still have to get in line for some stuff.
Went last year and 2 friends from the UK, and they tried getting back a stein each and had to be careful with it, and stuff like the Starcraft Board Game looked big, and looked a pain to lug around all day.
Sounds like a good idea though, less hassle for some people, and for others it might get everything done shopping wise for them 2 weeks before the con.

FYI, went to the gift shop after the closing ceremonies last year. Had no issues getting some stuff. Yeah there were some things that were sold out but plenty of stuff still available.

this is really cool for everyone that will be going, but i assume those of us unable to get (or win) tickets and will be watching on directv won't be able to take part in any special sales
no worries though... there's always next year :)

Just looking at that picture, I'm like hoping Ray Mohr will host again this year, if not already planned. He's great.
Grant Jul 31st 2009 9:32PM

Cheese Rations Jul 31st 2009 9:32PM
You spelled his *first* name wrong? Impressive.
Josh Aug 1st 2009 7:42PM
whoops, my bad. Just imagine if I was called Rosh.. lol. Jay, Jay Mohr. Thanks for heads up, guys.

Ticket buyers only? Wow. I wasn't able to grab BlizzCon tickets this year but was hoping to drop a few hundred on merchandise as usual anyway. Would've been nice if they could've thrown those of us that missed out on tickets a tiny bone by letting us at least buy pre-sale merchandise. Thanks Blizz. I feel the love.
