You're a fool to try to play wow with anything less than 1GiB of RAM, and it's been that way since WoW came out. BC pushed a 1GiB system pretty hard in Shatt, and Wrath pretty much requires 2GiB if you want to go to Dalaran... though everywhere else 1-1.5GiB will do you fine.
The issue has nothing to do with addons, you will have the exact same problems in packed cities regardless of addon if you don't have enough memory to avoid the page file in the first place. Even loading up 150MiB of resource-intensive addons is a drop in the bucket compared to loading up all those play textures in a city.
