I still think lightwell is completely useless.I havent tried using it in a long time, has something drasticly changed about it?They want me to use 2seconds of my time (inc gcd) on a >3500mana spell, plus 10 dps wasting 3 seconds of each of dps running around looking for it (so at least 150000 less damage on the boss) to cast something that a few aoe heals could do better.Plus then we have issues with fights were we dont want people grouping up, or people running through clouds, or people taking small aoe damage (that reduces lightwell by 30%)What happens to the 11'th person that ran around looking for it? or the retarded keyboarder pug that takes 30 seconds to click something?Instead i could spend the point on more useful stuff.

Our Melee DPS use Lightwells in our 25-man raids, and it's a big help when people do unintentionally do stupid things and end up hurting themselves. It takes a little bit of a load off of the healers, and besides, light wells can usually be put down before the fight, when a 2 second GCD doesn't matter.Maybe if no one besides your tank ever takes damage it's useless, but realistically it's a utility spell and it's nice to have when you have more than one priest in a raid.

I've used it a fair bit. The smaller the group, the stronger it is.It heals for a TON. I mean it. I've seen it completely negate all incoming damage while its up. It costs very little mana. The HPS is completely crazy. The biggest problem is getting people to use it, as GC mentioned. Where I don't agree with him is that even if you have people who *do* want to use it, as groups get bigger it just becomes too hard to find and click it amid all the people and 50 different spell effects on the ground.Think on Firefighter. all that healing would be nice, except how are you ever going to find the thing when the entire room is covered in fire, mines, robots, and missile targetting circles?

I find Lightwell is obscenely godly on Auriaya, because everyone is grouped up the whole fight, and there's constant regular raid damage...Shame the boss is so easy that it doesn't matter D:

It is only as good as the dpser that do use it. Most tend to have tunnel vision, it isn't mobile as a Healthstone, Priests should have it as an aura that heals over time, then debuffs for a period or something, limiting its use

Blizz: "We want boss encounters to be interesting and have unique mechanics"re: Heigan, Iron Council, Noth, Gluth, Razuvious, Loatheb, MaxxenaBlizz: "We think Lightwell is still good"re: run up and click the thing, doesn't work if you're:-dodging slime of death-dodging lightning tendrils, etc-on the wrong side, running to grab aggro-kiting zombie chow-MCing a mob-running to the spore-getting mobbed by spiders or stuck to a wallBasically the Lightwell comment read to me as if GC wrote '1+2 = fish'. It makes absolutely no sense based on their current encounter design and tendencies for movement and distinct mechanics. Personally I like all the new boss encounters, don't get me wrong, but even when most of the encounters were tank n' spank with minimal movement in BC, Lightwell went pretty much entirely unused. Now that we have lots of interesting fight mechanics with all kinds of movement and other things to work with... there is even less reason and even more difficulty in using Lightwell. I also entirely agree with Anypriest... you need that DPS on the boss. DPS off the boss = boss lives longer = more damage = more healing.

Why not make lightwell tick like a stationary wild growth, Make it heal five targets within say 10 yards for a small amount (nothing like coh, wg or poh but perhaps a small renew) That way you could just place it close to the dps group and it'd reduce the active healing needed.A stationary 100/150 health per 3 seconds (approx 1/3 of renew (280hp3)) heal would help a lot in certain fights and it'd essentially be a incredibly good healing stream totem on a 3 minute cooldown (or reduce/remove the cooldown and reduce the heal to something on par with healing stream (25hp2).Feel free to shoot my idea out of the sky but it'd atleast bring some utility back to a underused talent.

@Eisengel - exactlyIts as if the people inventing the spells & class mechanics havent actually played a priest in a real raid.

Well can be incredibly strong on fights with lots of damage and real resets/pauses on the boss/waves between that damage. It definitely does require DPS (which I mostly play) knowing where it is and WHEN.Is it worth the talent cost? Maybe not. Is it well implemented? Arguable. As a concept there's a lot to be said for DPS taking some responsibility for maximizing their healing received.

Make lightwell give a 5% dps increase while the heal is active, and you will suddenly find people clicking on it.

The scary thing about Lightwell is that if DPS actually started to use it, and more players took it as a talent, the developers would nerf it in a heartbeat.
