Blizz: "We want boss encounters to be interesting and have unique mechanics"

Blizz: "We think Lightwell is still good"
re: run up and click the thing, doesn't work if you're:
-dodging slime of death
-dodging lightning tendrils, etc
-on the wrong side, running to grab aggro
-kiting zombie chow
-MCing a mob
-running to the spore
-getting mobbed by spiders or stuck to a wall
Basically the Lightwell comment read to me as if GC wrote '1+2 = fish'. It makes absolutely no sense based on their current encounter design and tendencies for movement and distinct mechanics. Personally I like all the new boss encounters, don't get me wrong, but even when most of the encounters were tank n' spank with minimal movement in BC, Lightwell went pretty much entirely unused. Now that we have lots of interesting fight mechanics with all kinds of movement and other things to work with... there is even less reason and even more difficulty in using Lightwell. I also entirely agree with Anypriest... you need that DPS on the boss. DPS off the boss = boss lives longer = more damage = more healing.
