It's not just rets. Remember, paladins are priests that put on plate mail. 90% of our damage comes from spells, holy spells in particular. No frost, no fire, no arcane, just holy. I personally play holy (light shockadin), and if I get locked out of holy spells, I'm sunk. My mace does 41 dps and I've got all of 190 strength (level 67), so not much help there. With a spell lockout, I lose my heals and my damage. I even lose my bubble (sob!)
