Are there any third party sources for downloading the patch yet?
Razgov Aug 4th 2009 2:04PM
The normal downloader worked for me.. you should try it.
Noraa Aug 4th 2009 2:07PM
Yes, there are several, just google warcraft 3.2 mirror or something like that and you should find them.

I found a good mirror on Macgamefiles.com if any other Mac users are looking for an alternate download. (I am at work and the Blizzard Downloader refused to start)
Kylenne Aug 4th 2009 2:31PM
I can second MacGameFiles. Though you may want to try a foreign mirror because the US one was getting hit pretty hard when I tried it earlier. I ended up using the UK one and getting much better speeds.

I'm sorry, the time machine to turn back the clock several weeks so you could have downloaded it when they first offered the option is currently offline.
Does everyone not have access to that option? And if everyone does, why wouldn't they want to take advantage of it? I downloaded two major chunks over the past few weeks and as a result had nothing to do today but install the patch. Why would people want to wait until the day of to download and install 800 megs worth of data?
Maybe it was broken for people. I don't know. I'm not trying to come across a jerk, but it seems like every time there's a patch this issue crops up.

@ Dana:
Blizz fails at getting the patch to everyone before patch day. You fail at not being a jerk.

@Danawhitaker
Your lack of understanding is hilarious.
Many people, for many different reasons choose to use mirror sites and have the background downloader turned off. To poke fun and imply that they're anything less than intelligent only proves your ignorance. Many locations (work, university, etc) will block P2P downloading, which would make blizzard's torrent system useless and/or slower than getting the download from a mirror site. Also, just to cite another example, is that most people (myself included) choose to turn off the background downloader because of its effect on the computer's performance and the fact that it doesnt take that long to download 800mb files... especially when you get them at 2.mb/s from a *shock* mirror site!

@danawhitaker:
Mac users in particular have not been able to download the pre-patch data, at all, due to wonky stuff happening on Blizzard's end. The Background Downloader would stall out around the 279MB mark, if it even got that far, and download speeds were at a crawl up until the stalling out point. This happened on both my machines, and countless other Mac users, as evidenced by the approximately 500 billion posts on the topic on the Mac tech support forums and the Blues who have patiently been trying to help us.
Knowing what you're talking about before making comments helps.
