Tuesday Morning Post: Down to the Wire edition
So this is it. A lot of people are saying it, and while there's no word one way or another, it seems like this morning is sort of the deadline. If they don't release Patch 3.2 today, pretty much everyone agrees we'll be lucky to see it before BlizzCon, since they're gonna need to get into gear to get all those special BlizzCon surprises ready for us. Now mind you, by the time you read this, you'll probably know for sure if it's going down. But me, here, on a warm Monday evening, I'm just finishing up some writing before I meet some friends for $2.50 beer night at the local microbrewery. So consider this, if you will, a message from the past, a past where the future was uncertain, but hope reigned supreme; Where we all looked forward to a pleasant evening and a bright tomorrow.
Wait? What's that? It is coming out? Oh sweet. Okay guys. Be sure to check out our guide to Patch 3.2 for all the latest new and guides on the new patch content.
Also on the list of what is confirmed is that we have extended downtime. All servers will be down from at least 3 AM to 11 AM Pacific time, and a couple battle groups will be down even longer. Considering that, you will probably have some time to catch up recent WoW news, so let me lay it on you:

PTR was taken down, cant wait to start farming for those cute little raptors

Funny, when I logged in just now, it said *some* servers are down for maintenance. I don't recall a major patch being released with only some servers down for extended maintenance.
In addition, the servers getting extended are having hardware reconfigurations - not the kind of thing you want to do at the same time as a patch - you want a week to let the new hardware get settled in, tested, and running smoothly.
I'm betting next week for the patch. If I'm wrong, cool, I'll have 3 alts with flying mounts in Northrend, if not, I still have plenty to do.

I am not saying one way or another but a whole different set of realms had extended maintenance last week, which could have been blizz splitting up prep for the patch, so that argument against isn't really solid.
Itanius Aug 4th 2009 5:12AM
Bring it on.
lolwut Aug 4th 2009 5:16AM
How long till a yanks maintenance is over now?

Forget your message from the past, I hail from the Future, otherwise known as Australia, where it is currently Tuesday EVENING, and all the servers have crashed horrifically beyond any hope of a Wednesday morning recovery.
It is a sad and bleak future, where Dr Pepper is nowhere to be found, and episodes of Entourage must be obtained through underground channels.

i wish i had more hands...
so i could give this post more thumbs up
antont83 Aug 4th 2009 6:02AM
Haha great comment. If you live in Perth I can give you the name of a couple of stores that sell Dr Pepper.
Darky Aug 5th 2009 4:46AM

Tuesday morning's comin' mighty early these days... /yawn.
Looking forward to hours of mindless heroic farming.
Mathavian Aug 4th 2009 5:28AM
Heroic farming, Titanium farming, Raptor farming...
This is a farming patch... and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
Marolas Aug 4th 2009 5:35AM
Blizzard Downloader's picked up something big at 5am. About 579MB worth of data. Not sure yet if it's the whole package, but it sure seems to be a start in the right direction.

It sucks that I have the extended downtime. =(
Im so happy with the changes coming up, mainly the normal flyer speed increase.
It will pretty much augment everything else in the game by making travel quicker, which leads to faster daily farming, and that leads to more money quicker, and that leads to...!
This is the patch ive been waiting for.
Ghostcrawler finally gave us our pony.
Sort of...
Tito Aug 4th 2009 5:50AM
And hooray for $2.50 beers.
furry Aug 4th 2009 6:07AM
So excited for 3.2. I already got all my mats ready for Jeeves! (You know, except for the King's Ambers)...
They say only some will be down extra long, but I wouldn't be surprised if the servers were all down again till late evening like they were in April for 3.1... But maybe that's just me.
PvtDeth Aug 4th 2009 6:31AM
Bah! I thought I'd have another week for Jeeves mats. I was going to put up a bunch of 110g and 74a on AH.
Oh well, I made enough off of 3.0 herbs to be worth a lifetime of price-gouging.
Seryth {Dentarg} Aug 4th 2009 6:32AM
If you open the launcher, it's been updated.
It shows the picture and logo of Call of the Crusade: Patch 3.2
Harth Aug 4th 2009 6:37AM
The launch screen for WoW has patch 3.2 Call of the Crusade on it.
Noctiluca Aug 4th 2009 6:40AM
I hope 3.2 is next week. I am like 2 days away from my Crusader title and I just really wanted to get it before the patch dropped and the entire tournament grounds becomes a clusterbomb of stupid. Either way, I'm excited for it. I've been stockpiling titanium ore like there's no tommorow. Cha-ching.
sm.russell Aug 4th 2009 6:43AM
Just thought I'd post that the patch is now available for download and the Call of the Crusade images have been loaded onto the start up new feed,
