More fuel for the "Ozzy at BlizzCon" fire
Here's another rumor that points at just who we might be seeing on stage BlizzCon -- over on Roadrunner Records' Blabbermouth.net news website, there's a rumor going around that guitarist Gus G., who's part of a band called Firewind, will be playing with Ozzy Osbourne at this year's BlizzCon. This isn't the first time we've heard Ozzy might be there -- Zakk Wylde, who is apparently on his way out of Ozzy's band, previously mentioned that he might be playing there, but Blabbermouth says Zakk is out and Gus is in.Now, before you go all nuts over the excitement of seeing the Prince of Darkness at BlizzCon (and we don't mean Arthas), keep in mind that this is only the second in a series of rumors, both from sources who may not exactly be familiar with BlizzCon anyway (they're only writing about this because they're interested in who's playing guitar with Ozzy, not what's going on at Blizzard's convention). So we definitely don't know for sure what's going on at BlizzCon yet -- don't pack your "Bark at the Moon" t-shirt until you've heard the official announcement from Blizzard.
Still, that would be an incredible show. I like Video Games Live and all, but they've never performed "Crazy Train" for us.
Thanks, Rob!

That would certainly be cool if he showed up, even if he just stood on stage and blabbered incoherently.
Andrew R. Aug 5th 2009 7:23PM
You mean he can do something other than murmur in coherently?
Lokasenna Aug 5th 2009 7:38PM
Yeah, he can stare at his teleprompter for the lyrics all night, do the occasional jumping-jack, and get out a Super Soaker for a change of pace.
Mr. Tastix Aug 5th 2009 11:14PM
And STILL manage to produce more talent then any of you put together. I don't see YOU with any awards for said musical talent? Or money?
Though I honestly do wonder what the average WoW player actually listens to whilst playing World of Warcraft...
Doma Aug 5th 2009 7:34PM
Screw "Crazy Train"- "War Pigs", end of discussion.
Alchemistmerlin Aug 5th 2009 7:49PM
Warpigs, at least with the edited lyrics, is awful.
Doma Aug 5th 2009 9:39PM
no way. the final 90 seconds sounds like a 300-foot Satan taking a victory march over the burning Earth.
maybe Paranoid's a little better...
Mr. Tastix Aug 5th 2009 11:15PM
Don't dismiss Crazy Train though, that's still a wicked song. I will admit that War Pigs owns though, because it does.

IRONMAN!
The Anthem of my Youth!

I don't know why he would go to Blizzcon if he canceled Ozzfest.
tonedeff Aug 5th 2009 8:40PM
Blizzcon is the new Ozzfest?
Leshrac Aug 5th 2009 9:20PM
Maybe because he lives in CA, this would be a one-night show and I'm sure the money would be awesome. Ozzfest is a grueling schedule for someone of his age.

Gus and Ozzy at Blizzcon!?
YES YES YES YESSSS!
I have no idea how it's going to work out, but I hope it does.
Luca Aug 5th 2009 9:24PM
he,if wargen are the new race he could start playing "Bark at the moon" when they are announced
Arraph Aug 5th 2009 9:04PM
By the way, Firewind seem a really odd choice to me, as they do not suit at all Ozzy's style, as they would most likely be categorised as melodic power metal. Still, I want to see Gus G, shredding the Crazy Train solo his own way.
Oh, and yay for Greek metal bands on Blizzcon :)
Amaxe Aug 6th 2009 3:27PM
Personally, I think power metal is great for WoW. I don't know this particular band of course, but there are times when I turned off the wow music and cranked Blind Guardian or Rhapsody or some other band

I doubt a collection of the worlds biggest assholes will give Ozzy the respect he deserves, the comic they had in 2007 man...he couldn't even finish his routine. I have a feeling this will end badly.

Saw Ozzy at Ozzfest a couple years ago, he's sadly going quite downhill. He probably should get out of the concert business while he can. He seems to not even remember his lyrics half the time and he just kinda shuffles around stage.
I love Ozzy, but I think its time for him to call an end to his bat-eating days.

"I like Video Games Live and all, but they've never performed "Crazy Train" for us."
Um, if i am not mistaken, i believe GTA: Vice City did preform "Crazy Train"....well not really preformed it but played it on one of the radio stations you could select. It also featured "Bark at the Moon".
Just saying.

I saw the RSS headline, and thought it said "More fuel for the Orgy at BlizzCon"
The mental image of the stereotypical conventioneers formed by that misreading is one I'll never get out of my mind... O_o;;;
