The Queue: Crazy delicious gets my vote

Today's edition of The Queue is somewhat short, as there weren't a ton of questions in the last edition. I think everyone was too busy boggling at the video I linked. Whoops! Also, here is a random poll.

Allen Ibrahim asked...
"Seeing as Blizzard has been implementing popular addons into the actual game, when do you think we'll see DBM or even Omen in-game? Do you think they will just save them for the next-gen MMO instead?"
Blizzard has already implemented elements of these. Regarding Omen, you get alerts around your unitframe when you're about to pull aggro. You get a yellow aura, and then it turns red when you actually pull threat. I think that's as far as Blizzard wants to go for having default threat meters. I somewhat suspect they don't want to put a chart or graph in front of all of their players with exact threat values and percentages. As much as raiders like Omen, that's not something Blizzard would put right in front of players. Leave it up to the mod authors.
There are also a lot of attacks that Blizzard broadcasts nowadays. No, they don't have the full DBM/BigWigs functionality... but I don't think a game company would ever give that to you either, the same as Omen. I think they've gone far enough with many bosses putting big bold yellow letters on your screen telling you what's about to happen. Have you done the new Coliseum 5-man instance? Eadric the Pure pretty much tells you exactly what to do and when to do it. Other than that, I think the stuff should stay to mods, and Blizzard probably feels the same.
saerb asked...
"Do movement impairing affects also affect attack speed?"
The base mechanic? No. But there are select spells that do. If they do, their tooltip will specify.
Joseph asked...
"Are there any reliable Paladin blogs left?"
Depending on your spec? Sure. I'm going to do here what I did for the Rogue blogs: List your favorite Paladin blogs in the comments, folks! Personally, I'm Prot at heart, so I pay more attention to Righteous Defense and Honor's Code. I read a ton of Paladin blogs on a daily basis, but those two are my favorites at the moment.
Davo asked...
"I've never played Warcraft III. Not even once. I was reading a bit about it on Wowwiki the other day and it seemed bursting with WoW-relevant lore. How much lore is going over the top of my head in WoW because of my dreadful RTS skillz?"
Quite a bit. Don't worry though, I suck at RTS games as well, and you can just do what I did. Use cheat codes. When you're in a level, hit enter, type "whosyourdaddy" and then hit enter again. Congratulations, you now have god mode and can experience the full story without worrying about getting shivved.
Slaytanic asked...
"With the 3.2 changes to resilience (covering all damage), do you think we might start seeing it being used as a possible tanking stat?"
No. Resilience only affects damage from players.
Abbadon asked...
"Sooo... Did they take out the Get Kraken daily?"
No. Get Kraken! rotates with one or two other dailies, so you won't get it every day. You probably got something else in its place.

Anchovies are awesome on pizza if you wash off the salt junk that they're packaged in. Plus, just think how many robots you could oil permanently with just the one container shown in the pic.
Boydboyd Aug 5th 2009 5:08PM
That link to the first blog you mention seems a little scary. Where again is .ch?
Druidski Aug 5th 2009 5:08PM
pwned.

What the hell Adam? What happened to the disappointed Captain Picard avatar of yore?
shiplore Aug 5th 2009 5:12PM
Switzerland. CN is china if that's what you're thinking.

@impurezero
Our backend must be acting strangely again.
Logan Aug 5th 2009 6:15PM
@BoydBoyd: the .ch does not stand for a country on itself, the blog's author is "Rhidach", and based on wordpres.com's ToU, the bloggers shouldn't use a domain name with .wordpress.com on it, so I guess he just decided to get "rhida.ch" as a domain name, but than again, it's just my guess, so you would have to ask him, however, he is on vacation for the week...
joerendous Aug 5th 2009 6:32PM
i like my anchovies like i like my mr pibb and red vines.
Agerath Aug 5th 2009 6:52PM
@Logan:
Actually, .ch stand for Confederatio Helvetica (I think-my latins a bit rusty), which is fancy talk fer Switzerland.
Logan Aug 5th 2009 6:58PM
Oh, didn't know that one. Anyway, will have to ask Rhidach, now I'm curious about the domain, and if he does actually come from switzerland, which I kinda doubt since he playin on a US server, but, who knows?

Anchovies are good - the tin can with all the oil and salt aren't. Good thing for tap water and a bowl. ^_^ Rinse and Repeat.

Hey there, long time reader first time commenter. What I would like to know is what stats should healers be looking to get, and also at what point should a healer start heroics?
Grak Aug 6th 2009 9:59AM
This is a subjective question, as how good the healer needs to be depends on how well geared the tank and dps are. The lower the dps of the group the longer the fights take and more healing is required.. the lower the level of the tank's gear the more damage he/she will take and more healing is required. I've been into heroics with raid-geared tanks who barely take a scratch and I can get away with the occasional HoT to keep him topped off.. other times the tank has been in quest blues and each pull is a life-or-death race to keep him alive before the next hit lands.
If you've done all your end-of-level quests for the good rewards, done a fair share of the normal dungeons, and obtained a couple of rep rewards with factions like KirinTor and Wyrmwrest temple, you should be fine to head into heroics. Start with the easier ones, like Nexus, Culling of Strat, Violet Hold etc. And in no time you'll be filling out slots with tasty conquest and valor gear.

My death knight is specced 0/53/18 as a Threat of Thassarian spec, and i was wondering, What hit rating amount for dual wielding should I aim for?
And would I lose dps if attempt to reach the hard cap? (all white attacks and special attacks hit, no misses).
Lastly, what stat should I value most?
I use obliterate as my primary source of damage, supplemented by frost strike and howling blast, so i would assume Armour Penetration then Crit, assuming I've reached the expertise cap and am happy with the amount of hit rating I have.
Would love to have someone help me out with this, TY in advance.

I got the Kraken quest today, is very fun, basically is like those quests in Hellfire when you throw bombs at the mobs

Blizzard does so many things so well, it is a mystery to me why they cannot implement popular add ons into the game.
I tried the Blizzard Equipment Manager, I really did. I used it exclusively for two weeks, and finally disabled it and went back to Outfitter.
I now hold little hope that I will be able to drop Questhelper or Deadly Boss Mods anytime in the near future.
Oldbear Aug 5th 2009 5:26PM
I played last night without Questhelper... My left eye is still larger then my right, and I can't seem to get the drool stain out of my shirt. I forgot how to read quest text and a corpse run with out the big floating arrow was very different...
