Patch 3.2 In-Game fixes for Wednesday August 5th

Not that anyone should be surprised, but the first round of in-game bug fixes for patch 3.2 are out. These fixes were announced tonight, however they might not be completely active until the servers undergo maintenance tomorrow.
There are many, many bugs this patch. Some are more obvious than others, like XT not being doable for most folks. Others are more subtle, like Wintergrasp Commendations being able to be sent to alts, who then were able to take them into Battlegrounds and level like mad.
The full list of fixes announced today after the break. We'll continue to bring you these in-game fixes as Blizzard announces them over the next week (or longer, if things are really bad).

We did XT-002 last night as part of our regular raids. Usually we'd do Heartbreaker, but with the waves of adds, normal mode was almost as difficult as the hard mode! I feel sorry for the guilds who aren't quite geared enough to be doing hard modes who would have found it almost impossible to deal with that many bombs.

Is the Death Knight flying mount supposed to still cost 950G from the vendor in the ebon hold? I thought it would be getting a price cut. The mount guide for 3.2 didnt address it but it does say that the regular flying mounts would cost 50G.
I know the mount scales with flight skill, but the sum of the cost for a regular and epic flying mount should be 150G and I dont really feel like shelling out the other 800 if it just got overlooked.
Davey, sorry for piggybacking off your comment, but I came across this way after that 3.2 mount post moved onto the 4th page and I was hoping to get some answers from the Wow.com community.

The DK flyer scales with your flying skill so it would have to cost more than a regular flyer.

Plus, the chicken is still a "special" mount.

We would usually do Heartbreaker and the adds kept us from being able to complete it this week as well, but am I alone in thinking XT was actually a fun fight with the massive add increase? While we couldn't get Heartbreaker completed, I believe it would have been possible with a few extra attempts to get everyone accustomed to the size of the add waves and ranged being pulled from heart much earlier.
(I raid as a mage and I'm one of the ranged responsible for adds during heart phases.)

XT was mildly harder, though I can imagine it being much harder to do the hard mode. We had one of our melee switch to range and come off the heart to deal with the added bombs and it then it was fine (which is why heartbreaker would have been much harder to initiate).
Before the patch we could position XT so that adds would only spawn from 2 piles. Now it seems we can only limit the adds to 3 piles. Is this what everyone is seeing? Or is it just more adds from the same spots as before?

Took us much longer to get Heartbreaker done this week that's for sure!
Got a new achievement out of it at least (Nerf Bombots). But I think we all panicked when we first saw 10 bomb-bots and tons of scrapbots in a line.

Our guild was actually going to do the speed kill just for fun and then we got hammered by the adds. We actually found it easier to do hard mode than normal. Once hard mode is activated there are no more bots to deal with.

We did XT last night and the first attempt we weren't aware of the bug and failed. Though the 2nd attempt we just moved XT to a different location and we were fine. It is a lot more adds and probably more then Blizz ment but it wasn't that bad.

We used to do the 2-pile thing on XT, but when we tried that on Tuesday, adds came as a tsunami from all 4 piles. And did not stop coming even when he was out of heart mode.

XT-002 seems to be "fixed" in more ways than one. It has a much smaller area of effect to nullify the junk pile spawns, and it seems that any junk pile being nullified makes the adds sent there spawn at other piles.
The 2nd is speculation but it seemed like there was waaaaaay more adds than there still should be.

Had ye olde adds-breaking-through-the-walls bug on Gothikk during a quick badge run tonight, too. Fortunately, my guildies are smarties who listen when you tell 'em to move their butts to the gate so the tanks can pick everything up more easily.

We had this happen too the first time through Gothic, caught dead side by surprise and wiped us.
Second run through it didnt happen

One thing that should be fixed is the ability for players to interrupt the joust quests so the npc bugs out and says 'the fight is taking too long, I'm gonna go have a pint' or whatever it is they say...

This makes me very happy. The XT thing really caught my guild off guard yesterday

We just killed XT on 10 man with all the extra adds, it was...intense. Basically ranged needs to single target the bombs which will cause chain reactions and take care of most of the repair bots. Don't try and tank him on the side of the room though, has to be done on the stairs or in the middle. light bombs will also be cast during tantrum and no pets can attack the heart which sucked for me as a destro lock :(
Wolftech Aug 6th 2009 3:15AM
We just did it in 10 man as well, and blizzard works great... they explode by the time they get from one side to the other ;)
It did freak us out the first time seeing like 100 scrapbots and 10 bombs per scrap pile (as well as 2-3 pummelers per pile)
Tharina Aug 6th 2009 12:35AM
To reiterate, XT has not been hot-fixed or at least the fix didn't work.
Gnosh Aug 6th 2009 12:40AM
to RE-re-iterate, they specified that the fix would only affect new raid IDs. So if you were already saved this week, NO FIX FOR YOU
aoeex Aug 6th 2009 2:01AM
We did XT tonight in a brand new raid (we dont run til wednesday nights) and the adds were still way above what they were pre-3.2. Along with that probably, our tank (me) kept getting lightbombs toward the end of the encounter.
Hotfix failed I think.
