That sounds like there's simply too much for your laptop's hardware to handle when you load in. It's not uncommon after patches or even in encounters involving lots of npcs like 25 man Thorim - one person in my guild dcs from the first wave of commoners in the arena every single time without fail. He is currently brooding over having to be summoned into the new raid/heroic by locks because his computer can't handle the load from all the people sitting around at the tournament.
