This is great -- it's probably more WoW playing than I could do in one day, but maybe I'll try it this weekend anyway. loztaylor has designed
a heck of an instance run that rolls through thirteen Heroics and will nab you 53 Emblems of Conquest (along with all of the other spoils of war) in one day. Basically, you'll be sweeping across the land of Northrend, hitting every Heroic you come across, and if by some chance you're able to keep the group together the whole time, and keep from passing out from all the
WoW playing you're doing, at the end you'll end up with 53 Emblems, more than enough to purchase most of the Emblem gear, and almost enough to pick up a Tier piece.
Of course, if you're wearing a rep tabard, you'll also rein in a ton of dungeon rep. And if you hit the new
Trial of the Champion, you'll pick up your Champion's Seals as well. And you'll have 13 Frozen Orbs to divvy among the group, a few extra Emblems and gold from doing the daily quests, and if you're good and/or lucky, you might even be able to clear up a few of the achievements or snag
that blue proto-drake. Of course, doing this much of anything in the game will probably nab you plenty of rewards. But here's a tuned route to follow all the way around the world of Heroics. If I can find a willing group of
suckers guildies, I think I'll give it a shot.

The night before last, I pugged 11 heroic 5-mans in just under 11 hours. My friend and I ran it dual tank (my pally, his dk) and pugged the rest of the spots. Having two tanks allows us to chain pull and we have much less risk of wiping.
We were delayed a few times trying to find healers. I probably should dual spec holy and learn to heal so that doesn't happen.

Oh, and a comment on this from the article...
"you'll end up with 53 Emblems, more than enough to purchase most of the Emblem gear".
BZZZZZTTTTT!!!!! try again. There's six pieces of conquest gear that I'd want to purchase on my pally tank:
19 - [Shard of the Crystal Forest]
28 - [Gauntlets of the Royal Watch]
28 - [Shieldwarder Girdle]
39 - [Wyrmguard Legplates]
58 - [Conqueror's Aegis Faceguard]
58 - [Conqueror's Aegis Breastplate]
==
230 - [Emblem of Conquest] total.

So that's 5 days of heroics?
millierj Aug 7th 2009 4:21PM
I think he meant enough to pick up any one piece of emblem gear.
Desquil Aug 7th 2009 5:13PM
Krick I think you misunderstood.
"you'll end up with 53 Emblems, more than enough to purchase most of the Emblem gear".
I believe he means you'll be able to purchase almost any individual piece. The most expensive pieces you listed cost 58, only 5 shy of the number obtained from this run.
Tyfo Aug 7th 2009 4:22PM
Krick - I'm quite positive he meant that with 53 Emblems you'll have more than enough for ANY piece of Emblem gear (bar tier), not EVERY.
Braundo Aug 7th 2009 4:28PM
Wyrmguard Legplates? Why?
Angus Aug 7th 2009 7:30PM
Wyrmguard Legplates?
You are just using those to tank heroics, right?
Because they utterly suck for serious content.
Krick Aug 7th 2009 9:13PM
I haven't actually purchased the Wyrmguard Legplates and I don't plan to. I was just listing all the conquest gear that is appropriate for a prot pally to figure out the maximum badges needed.
I think that unless I get something better first, I'm going to save up emblems of conquest and convert them to emblems of valor and purchase Valorous Redemption Legguards. I'll probably get the Valorous Redemption Shoulderguards the same way.
I think having both 2-piece set bonuses at the same time will be pretty cool...
Valorous Redemption Plate:
[Valorous Redemption Legguards]
[Valorous Redemption Shoulderguards]
(2) Set: Increases the damage dealt by your Hammer of the Righteous by 10%
Conqueror's Aegis Plate:
[Conqueror's Aegis Breastplate]
[Conqueror's Aegis Faceguard]
(2) Set: Increases the damage done by your Seals of Vengeance, Corruption, and Righteousness by 10%.

11 hours straight in a row?
If so, that's really sad.
Bonksy Aug 9th 2009 12:21PM
Have you actually played World of Warcraft, Emophia? Spoken to any of the people who play alongside you?
m_rydelis Aug 7th 2009 4:11PM
thats almost the same we did last day/night :) it was hell of a farming
Shobu Aug 7th 2009 4:11PM
Wow just Wow. I'm lucky if I get in 2 heroics a day.
Barinthos Aug 7th 2009 4:29PM
I'm right there with you. Not for lack of trying though. None of my guildies bother to stay online for more than that. They want to try and raid Naxx10 but can't even stay online for more than 2 heroics? Really??

Ma and my bro are doing this now. We just finished HoS/HoL, and I'm TAB'd out waiting for the dps to take their summons. Me and my brother are Tank/heals, so it's easy. I did 9 heroics yesterday, all of them on tuesday. Also, don't forget to do the daily no matter what, unless your guild has already downed Trial-25 heroic...
I now have my 4pc T8.5 set bonus in 3 days og heroics. Also, dont forget VoA-10, Naxx-10 and OS-10. Maly-10 if you are min/maxing...

Please go into your bathroom. Go in front of the mirror. Take a good long look into your own eyes. Tell yourself that there is more to this life than getting badges from a game. Now, go to the beach, read a book, get coffee with your mom. Anything! Just please, log out.
tatsumasa Aug 7th 2009 5:04PM
@JS
an elitist is anyone who plays more than you? believe it or not, people can spend less OR MORE time than you playing and still have a life outside the game. your standards are not the measuring stick to which we must all base our own schedules.
PeeWee Aug 7th 2009 5:56PM
"Now, go to the beach, read a book, get coffee with your mom. Anything! Just please, log out."
At the beach, you'll be taking hits from UV way radiation above recommended level this time of year. Not to mention algal bloom, tsunami, poisonous jellyfish, shark attacks... And coffee has never been good for you.
Why would spending said time in WOW be any less healthy than these options?
