This is great -- it's probably more WoW playing than I could do in one day, but maybe I'll try it this weekend anyway. loztaylor has designed
a heck of an instance run that rolls through thirteen Heroics and will nab you 53 Emblems of Conquest (along with all of the other spoils of war) in one day. Basically, you'll be sweeping across the land of Northrend, hitting every Heroic you come across, and if by some chance you're able to keep the group together the whole time, and keep from passing out from all the
WoW playing you're doing, at the end you'll end up with 53 Emblems, more than enough to purchase most of the Emblem gear, and almost enough to pick up a Tier piece.
Of course, if you're wearing a rep tabard, you'll also rein in a ton of dungeon rep. And if you hit the new
Trial of the Champion, you'll pick up your Champion's Seals as well. And you'll have 13 Frozen Orbs to divvy among the group, a few extra Emblems and gold from doing the daily quests, and if you're good and/or lucky, you might even be able to clear up a few of the achievements or snag
that blue proto-drake. Of course, doing this much of anything in the game will probably nab you plenty of rewards. But here's a tuned route to follow all the way around the world of Heroics. If I can find a willing group of
suckers guildies, I think I'll give it a shot.

And I was talking about heroic. My group ran it on heroic on the first two days, no emblems. We didn't get credit for killing the Black Knight either, for the heroic completion achievement. We did, however, get to pick up the quest item for Proof of Demise.
I guess my group just got shafted.

If you find you have the free time to be doing this, then I think you need to get out more. Srsly.
Rugus Aug 7th 2009 5:13PM
Some players love grinding the game for 1 week without sleeping and then take a long break. Others go for 1 year on a daily basis. It's all about managing your time. And if you have free time to do it, why should you care? Maybe he just finished the school and could never play more than few hours per week.

Not quite sure people want to be taking advice from someone that spells "seriously" with only 5 letters...seriously.
Viper007Bond Aug 7th 2009 5:45PM
I'm quite aware how to spell and properly use grammar (I even use the Oxford comma when appropriate), but I meant "srsly". I treat it as more light-hearted "seriously". A less serious seriously. heh

OMG!
It is just like the Hardcores predicted!
Terrabads and Casuals who never play more than an hour or two are now going to be able to get 53 badges a day!
My Epics, my Epics!
(Since it is usually lost on most, please not that this is sarcastic.)
Naix Aug 7th 2009 5:37PM
8 heroics is like 5+ hours of play.
That is a lot.

Let's all judge each other!
"You play too much, you have no life!"
"This game is too easy, people like you are enjoying it!"
"Go to the beach, do fun things in real life! Instead of being a loser, having fun playing video games!"
"Your gear is terrible, you are not good enough for this instance!"
Saying things like this makes people like you more.

I was clearing 8 heroics in about 3.5 hours before 3.1 hit. It all depends on your group, their gear, and how well they work together, really. To be quite honest, it doesn't matter how long it takes a group to clear 8 (or more!) heroics, as long as they're enjoying it.
Naix Aug 8th 2009 11:08AM
Oh wow.
You has issues.

Do you think Blizzard has made it to where the instance servers are biased towards players entering ToC? For the past two days I've been trying to get into Sethekk Halls with no luck, even after 30 minutes of trying each day, even at 2 AM in the morning, yet I did normal and Heroic ToC back to back and got in on the first try, both times.
jbodar Aug 7th 2009 7:42PM
"Additional instances cannot be launched at this time, please try agai- wait, why the hell are you running Sethekk Halls?! Nostalgia? Just get to Northrend already with the other 99% of the playerbase. We got people trying to grind Emblems here!"
On August 7, 2009, at 5:18 PM PST, Blizzard's server farm became self-aware -- and it's kind of a dick. This... is Judgment Day. ;)

My main is a druid so I go back to SH to try getting Anzu sometimes. :(

Seriously though, I wouldn't be surprised if the new instances were allowed to access an "overflow" pool of instances that others couldn't. It makes sense to me, since the needs of the many (80 Heroics) would outweigh the needs of the few (I can haz SM run?).

What would serve really well would be to get a more in-depth analysis of what an Ironman Wrath Heroics Run provides.
1. We already know it's 53 Emblems of Conquest.
2. How many epics does this add up to? That is a lot of Abyss Crystals if no one in the group needs the gear.
3. How long does it realistically take to clear Wrath heroics? Experienced players who know the pulls and work well together as a team can likely roll nonstop through all of them.
4. How many Stonekeeper's Shards does this add up to if your faction is able to reliably control Wintergrasp for the duration of the run?
5. What's the total potential reputation value for completing a run like this? Would certainly trivialize the grind for any of the four Champion-able factions.
The important part is not to comment on whether or not doing something like this is healthy - anyone who is willing to farm heroics by doing this every lockout has obviously got a lot of time on their hands, and whether or not that's healthy is a non-issue.
Presenting a guide like this creates the opportunity for a day-long event for your guild: everyone splits up into 5-man groups, starts at Culling of Stratholme and starts the Ironman. It can be a race! An endurance trial! Or just a compelling event to help undergeared characters get the gear or enchant mats they need in order to enter the raiding game. It's certainly more epics/emblems per hour than grinding out Naxx, and a far greater chance of getting something that's an upgrade.
I'm with you, Schramm, this looks like hella fun.
Rioriel Aug 7th 2009 6:54PM
I make it 52.
Going by the linked site, the count is at 44 after Drak'tharon Keep.
Then +3 from Utgarde Keep, and then +4 from Pinnacle.
That's 51, plus the daily normal for 52.
Rioriel Aug 7th 2009 6:55PM
Nevertheless, I've formed a new PvE guld over on The Sha'tar EU and we'll no doubt try this in the next couple of days. I'll keep a tally on gear, shards, time, etc.
Borled Aug 7th 2009 7:11PM
Last night, we did the daily heroic in 14 minutes. Then a dps dropped and we decided to do the regular heroic, cot: strat, and didn't pick up another dps. we still got the mount drop with four. You could do those 13 instances easily in 6 hours. Not bad at all.

Good lord...just when I didn't think it could get any more sad.
