The Queue: Cosmetics

Nearly 9,000 people voted that anchovies were gross in the last edition of The Queue. I wholeheartedly disagree! However, I know when I'm beat, so consider today's picture an apology. If you think this picture is gross and don't have some sort of allergy that has caused you to form that opinion, well... I can't help you anymore. You are broken. May whatever deity (or non-deity) you believe in have mercy on your soul (or whatever your belief system keeps inside of your squishy bits).
Zayd asked...
"How long before Blizz let you change your characters race? If we can soon change faction then this seems the next logical step, it's just a cosmetic change when you get down to it..."
The problem with race changes is that it isn't just cosmetic, actually. You underestimate how much weight some people put on racials. When it comes to min/maxing, there are tons of players out there who will take their racials into consideration as well. You don't want hundreds/thousands of arena players to pay $25 to switch to the new Flavor of the Month race because of the racial. You don't want every Horde Warrior just spending $25 to turn into a Tauren for the Stamina bonus. If they want to completely reroll for that bonus, then they can do that. But allowing race changes basically means they would be spending real money to get an edge in whatever aspect of the game they play. And unless it's a one time only deal, you can bet players will be switching back and forth. $25 to be a Human in Season 75, $25 to be a Dwarf in Season 76 since it's the new sexy, $25 to go back to a Human because Dwarves got nerfed in Season 81.
That's not to say they won't ever allow it, but the reason they don't yet is because it's not just cosmetic. It would essentially be accepting money to let players perform better. Recustomization is purely cosmetic. Changing factions isn't purely cosmetic, but if you can convince your entire raid/arena team to hop factions so you can have better racials... that's pretty impressive, and you should be a politician.
xckarbear asked...
"Our guild isn't a raiding guild. We're a group of friends who formed a guild.
But recently we wanted to tackle heroics for the rep. Needless to say, our rag tag team in blues and greens couldn't even get to the giant in Nexus. Our warrior tank isn't specced for tanking, and my balance/resto druid is the only level 80 healer.
Aside from getting our Warrior dual specced - where do we start to get gear to be able to do heroics? We're all not real familiar with what we need to do in order to be successful."
I'll keep my answer short and sweet, because the comments sections yesterday pretty much summed it all up. I recommend going back and reading that.
Reputation gear, craftable gear, stuff from the Argent Tournament, all good options. If Heroics are rocking your face, you should also step back and do some normal mode dungeons. Utgarde Pinnacle, Halls of Lightning, those are both good instances to run non-Heroic. They're at/near the level cap, and provide good drops to get you started.
Rekkla asked...
"I have a question: Why would Blizz elect to release Koralon's room in Vault, without him in it?
It left a very lazy impression upon me. I work in newspapers, and I couldn't exactly print a blank page and expect to keep my job. Anyone with me here?"
If you printed a blank page for a paper that's not meant to be published for at least 2 weeks yet, probably more, nobody would give a lick except for maybe the guy that needs to put the blank paper back in the printer. Koralon isn't in his room because he's the boss to coincide with Season 7, like Emalon was for Season 6 and Archavon was for Season 5. When Season 7 starts, he'll be there. When it's time to publish your paper, that blank page will have writing on it.
bspauldin asked...
"My son referred his brother using recruit a friend. He hasn't reached 60 yet, but with the mount changes, shouldn't he receive his Zhevra mount at 40? He's 52 now and was disappointed he didn't receive it."
You get your mount when the person you referred has paid for two months of the game themselves. It's not level dependent at all. If you referred someone when your main was level 1, and you stopped playing WoW but the person you referred continued playing and paid for two months, your level 1 would get that zhevra. They don't pay, you don't get.

Is blizz going to do anything with the rest of Obsidian Sanctum?
Chris A Aug 7th 2009 7:17PM
Doubt it. It's perfect the way it is. The challenge is to keep leaving more drakes up until ur guild can do all four drakes up.
danny.b.aeton Aug 7th 2009 7:19PM
3.3 - Other dragonflight raids
3.4 - Icecrown?
Riley Aug 7th 2009 7:33PM
I think you mean the Chamber of Aspects, where OS is located, and I'm hoping they do release at least one other raid there
RogueJedi86 Aug 7th 2009 7:34PM
I guess technically, Obsidian Sanctum is finished. But if you refer to the other Dragonflight Sanctums under Wyrmrest, then your question makes more sense. I'd say it's wasted potential, unless Blizzard decides to push Icecrown back to 3.4. I sure can't see them adding in new Dragonflight Sanctums in the next expansion, people wouldn't go all the way back to Northrend to the middle of the Dragonblight for a new raid. Let's face it, Northrend will go the way of Outland in the next expansion, out of the way and forgotten in the rush into the next expansion's content.
Dreadskull Aug 7th 2009 7:45PM
They'll probably either do nothing with it, have us come back in some later expansion pack to do another Aspect's chamber, or... possibly have it be in a Sunwell-esque patch if they end up having to delay the next expansion pack or something after Icecrown Citadel (which is supposed to be in the next (supposedly final) major content patch for WotLK).
Cyno01 Aug 7th 2009 8:27PM
@ RogueJedi86, because blizzard would never put new content in an old zone, that would be like putting a couple of new dungeons and an entire raid instance off in a corner of a lvl 40 zone somewhere... Oh wait, that was a good chunk of BC content AND included a new dungeon in wrath even.
I would not be surprised at all if there were more raids there and a portal to wrymrest temple in Undermine.
Lokasenna Aug 7th 2009 8:43PM
I would not be at all surprised if the Emerald Sanctum comes into play if/when we get some Emerald Dream content.
Likewise, I could see:
Bronze Sanctum = resolving the Infinite Dragonflight stuff
Azure Sanctum = whatever happens to the Blue Dragonflight now that Maly is gone
Ruby Sanctum = a stretch, but perhaps tied into Grim Batol if we ever see that
JamieG Aug 7th 2009 8:50PM
Karazhan and Mount Hyjal were in old Azeroth.
Sl0th Aug 7th 2009 9:57PM
I get the impression that Blizzard might treat Wyrmrest like the Caverns of Time in that they'll come back to it over the next expansions and add new raids. Which would make some sense.
Maybe we'll get an "Emerald Sanctum" when we hit the expansion featuring the Emerald Dream. Or a "Bronze Sanctum" when we finally near the end of the Bronze/Infinite Dragonflight plot line. Or maybe an "Azure Sanctum" will contain some rogue Blue Dragons who want revenge for the death of Malygos. I can't come up with a good reason for a "Crimson Sanctum," but I'm sure they can drum up something.

What's with the fish fetish?
Listen Gilligan. Just because you like the smell of the sea, and raw flesh wrapped in barnacles, does NOT mean everyone else does! Find some land, swabbie. Get your head out of the water. And if you must, put a picture of a roast crustaceon up there! Now that's what we want to see.
Maxisawesome Aug 8th 2009 7:24PM
Yes, sorry, I meant the Chamber of Aspects.
So my question is:
Is blizzard going to do anything else with the Chamber of Aspects?
Sandriss Aug 7th 2009 7:12PM
Hi Alex,
Do you think we'll ever see an option to reorganize our characters on our character selection page, before you enter the game? Or perhaps Blizz could make it so the highest levels would be on top, getting lower and lower towards the bottom.
Thanks! :)
Luthielle Aug 7th 2009 7:31PM
guhhhhh, I would LOVE to see this option!! I transferred several characters from one server to another, so now my main is three down from the top when she used to be first... it bothers me more than it should >.>;. Would also be curious what your thoughts on this are ~
Itanius Aug 7th 2009 7:52PM
This has been one of my pet peeves since the game began. While I'm obviously not a programmer for Blizzard, I can't imagine it being a monumental task. It's certainly a feasible request.
Gessilea Aug 7th 2009 8:07PM
Want want want! Even just options to sort character by level or alphabetically by class would be great.
Syrael Aug 7th 2009 11:30PM
Good to know there's more people out there thinking this. It drives me nuts!
twelve Aug 8th 2009 2:51AM
I'd like to organize my characters by playtime (/played), starting from top. Would be interesting for me to see when they switch positions depending on whom i've been playing recently.
Arkeband Aug 8th 2009 3:04AM
They already responded to this question via a blue poster. It's something that they hear requested often, and something they have near the lower end of their list of priorities.
Babaloo Aug 7th 2009 7:12PM
So what exactly is the difficulty for the new raid? I've heard people saying it's easier than Ulduar on some modes like the 10 Man, and my guild could always go for a nice gear upgrade, so I just wanted to get the difficulty of the bosses in the new raid clarified.
