Breakfast Topic: So what do you think of patch 3.2?

It's been an interesting week in Azeroth with Call of the Crusade finally landing on live servers. Patch 3.2 did bring with it another painful bout of maintenance for everyone involved that seemed to go one forever. However its offerings were certainly plentiful! After an age of waiting for the European realms to pop up, I appeared in Dalaran to find most of the server surrounding Matron Aria in an attempt to get the Wolvar/Oracle orphans (I went with Kekek, if you must know), the rest were swarming the Argent Tournament grounds and pushing and shoving to get into the new instance.
Top of my list was to try out the new Druid forms and then get my hair colored. The rest of my guild made a beeline for "the new place" (aka the Coliseum) or moaning about the buffing/nerfing of such and such a class. So, constant readers, what did you do first? More importantly, what do you think of the patch? I admit I'm still sitting on the fence, there were some nice additions but I'm still a heck of a lot more interested in patch 3.3. Tell us in the usual fashion by dropping your thoughts in the box below.

Tried to find the master jewelcrafter in the huge crowd surrounding him. Tip: look for the purple hat and poke the cows in their ears till they move their head.
Really bad lag, clicked the epic recipe 2000 times before actually being able to make a purchase, sell the other 24 copies i didn't need, rinse and repeat. Long Long process.

Additional instances cannot be launched.
Malkia Aug 9th 2009 9:10AM
You must construct additional pylons.
Yeahhh

Here are my thoughts on the patch:
1) Several bugs making it quite annoying to level (e.g. Loaned Wind Rider Reins not working.)
2) Battleground XP was (almost) a complete disappointment. Alterac Valley seems to be the only BG that actually gives a decent amount of xp.
3) Trial of the Champion isn't that good. Its nice that ilvl200 and 219 items drop from it but its annoying that most of the dialogue is unskippable, and that its basically taking on groups of trash mobs, and then a boss.
4) Never tried Trial of the Crusader, but it looks pretty decent.
5) I like the Resilience change, although its made dots feel slightly more powerful (as the percentages of reduction you got from Resilience rating were reduced to balance out the reduction of all damage)

"its basically taking on groups of trash mobs, and then a boss."
so what makes this different from any other instance?
Gareth Aug 12th 2009 4:25AM
A storyline perhaps.
An instance without a theme or storyline is just a collection of trash mobs and a boss with some loot, for me that's the difference between a RPG and just any other video game.

Moar XP for BGs Plz!

Step 1: Get Crusader, which involved buying ~50 stacks of runecloth to finish up my Gnomeregan rep
Step 2: Do more tourney dailys
Step 3: Profit!

...but what do I do with this 11 million pairs of stolen underpants?
Seriously though, I think the new content and the improvements that have come with 3.2 are great.
I already had exalted with all Horde factions when the Argent Tournament started. The added quest rewards now makes it feel like it's paying off.
I was even able to afford the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth a couple of days faster than I'd expected. Now I've just got to keep at it to make all of those red numbers go away from my money tracking add-on.

i'd enjoy the new 5-man a whole lot more if the first encounter wasn't so bugged.

Amen. The funniest we had was when we downed them all properly and the Orc decided to have another go, fighting us and then jumping back on his mount.

ya we had the same thing with the dwarf rogue we were laughing sooooo hard on vent. it was a riot, at least we didnt have to kill them again tho. also if you have 1 person go in and start it while summoning you dont have very much dialog to wait thru.

Had something similar happen. During one run, the Orc warrior decided he wanted to fight again right before we were going to summon the Black Knight. He just came out of nowhere and started smacking our boomkin a moment before we were going to talk to the herald after the second boss. And, of course, after we beat him, he leisurely wandered over to a wolf and trampled the tank to death as the rest of us ran out of the instance.
Bugged instances are fun. Reminds me of the old days when the imps in Magister's Terrace wouldn't reset with the rest of their group and would get anyone who didn't know about the bug killed (Along with anyone unlucky enough to be standing next to them at the time) when the imps friends would come a running. Good times.

I finally got my first tournament mount, now that I'm not limited to a lousy 5 champion's seals per day. So that was nice. I'm even considering turning off my mount randomizer and making the Darnassian Nightsaber my permanent ground mount. It's purty.
The new 5-man is OK, I guess. I ran it once with my guild but haven't put in any effort to go back. I did manage to get a shoulder upgrade, which I was happy about, since the RNG has been unkind to me in Ulduar (I'm becoming increasingly convinced that AtlasLoot is wrong and that Iron Council does *not* drop a set of hunter/enhance shammy shoulders). I'm withholding judgment on the new raid until all the bosses are unlocked. I actually rather enjoyed the Northrend Beasts encounter once we figured out all the mechanics, but I think that puts me solidly in the minority.
Furlover Aug 9th 2009 8:32AM
I like it overall.
The new 5-man is quite buggy though (frustratingly so sometimes) and the fact that you have to sit through that boring-ass 'intro' each time is incredibly tedious. WTB a 'yeye w/e' skip option plx Blizz!

went to the barber first to change my druid's hair color to dark blue...
then changed it to purple...
then white...
then green...
then decided all of the new alliance bear forms look retarded.
mainspec = tank... /facepalm
Nick Aug 9th 2009 8:35AM
Your first mistake was rolling a Druid tank.
Malkia Aug 9th 2009 9:11AM
Yeah. I've never been happier to be balance and restoration druid.
