Ozzy at BlizzCon confirmed!
It's not a rumor and it's no longer a surprise - Ozzy Osbourne is going to appear at BlizzCon 2009, according to the program details of DirecTV. Unless Blizzard's partner for the live stream content is just goofing around, "a special appearance" pretty much confirms that the Prince of Darkness is going to perform in Anaheim this August. The news first started as a rumor that sprung from Zakk Wylde's Twitter message about a month back, corroborated by another rumor that another guitarist would be performing with Ozzy at BlizzCon.
Here's to hoping that Ozzy Osbourne's special appearance means he'll actually rock out on stage. As cool as Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain are, I'm sure Samwise and his crew will actually enjoy the show (and who says they won't join up for one big supergroup?). Azeroth has its own Prince of Darkness, but having the real deal perform should be a special treat, just as it's sure to be something all fans can look forward to. It seems like another incentive to get the DirecTV package in addition to that cute, gun-toting murloc. With BlizzCon stepping up in the show department, I wonder what other big things are in store for us this year.
Ozzy UK Blizzard commercial after the jump!
Thanks, Milkingit!

@Wendy
That picture says it was uploaded by Soulis. Is that the resident Webmaster of the site for Ozzy or something? Just making sure it's not some picture this Soulis uploaded of his own character and not Ozzy's.
If it is Ozzy, color me impressed. I'm not the biggest fan of Ozzy's music, but I'd be starstruck if I found out he played with me. I wonder if he's ever used his star power to get a position in a raid or anything?
wolfsterne Aug 9th 2009 5:40PM
Dude, you're a jackass. First you refuse to believe that he plays now you are accusing him of using who he is for raid positions. The answer to your question is no..he is in a smallish guild of close friends and a couple other people from the music industry among them are Chris Caffery of Savatge and Joacim Cans of Hammerfall.
RogueJedi86 Aug 9th 2009 5:55PM
@wolfsterne
I never accused him of using his identity for raid positions. I just asked. Is it a crime to ask if celebrities would use their status in games? Believe it or not, some celebrities might like being famous. I was just asking questions aloud. Relax.
I'm sure he wouldn't really use his celebrity status like that, especially since doing so in a pug would remove the comfort of anonymity he'd have with his WoW character. His playing with other rockers does make sense. I don't know who Hammerfall is, but I do have a song by Savatage("Strange Wings").
Sorry for coming across as a jackass, it was not my intention.

"Can I dps? I'm the bloody prince of darkness! Of course I can *#@*& dps!" *Trails off into incoherent mubling*

Is it 39.95 for one day or two..I noticed that there is two panels on the pic to order 39.95 for each day.

Am I the only one who can't stand this guy's voice?
I mean, music/art are very subjective of course, I'll like things people hate and vice-versa, but of all the songs I've heard this guy singing, I truly can't figure out the hype.
BigBadGooz Aug 9th 2009 4:31PM
will sharon be in attendance as well
SpaceDog Aug 9th 2009 4:32PM
I hate it when Samwise's band plays. I find him really embarrassing.
Stormdragon Aug 9th 2009 5:47PM
No what's embarrassing is what grown ups shout at him when he plays, then these tards turn around and say how the refuse to play with kids...kids have so much on these asshats in the way of maturity and intelligence it isn't even funny. Both the game and Blizzcon should be screen for Trailer Park trash.
Wendy Aug 9th 2009 4:50PM
It's for both days (total) I ordered it through DirectTV last year. Granted, they charge you extra besides that for maintence/setup cost or some rubish such as that, just so you're for warned.
Jimm0thy Aug 9th 2009 7:11PM
Whats the big deal if he plays or not? He wouldnt be the first celebrity to play games or an mmo for that mattter.
Wolftech Aug 9th 2009 6:00PM
Ozzy isn't just the Prince of Darkness...
Hes the PRINCE OF F'KING DARKNESS!!!!!
A very important distinction.
McMMOLuva Aug 9th 2009 7:41PM
So wait...the guy that was too braindamaged to figure out the remote to his television (as shown on his show) is able to play WoW 70+ hours a week, and raid no less.
And people say WoW isn't ridiculously easy...
Arkeband Aug 9th 2009 8:21PM
So how do you contrast his braindamaged state with the fact that he's a level 80 warlock whose screen is apparently covered in spells and icons? You have to wonder if it's not rehabilitative in some way. That's a lot of fine motor skills... normal people take it for granted, but playing video games has proven to make kids better at driving and piloting aircrafts and all kinds of stuff. They even use games in the military for training programs.
wolfsterne Aug 9th 2009 8:24PM
It's ironic that a tard named McMMOluva would talk about anyone being brain damaged.
Jurias626 Aug 9th 2009 8:59PM
What day is he suppose to be there?
Kberot Aug 10th 2009 2:02AM
Is it bad that I read that as "orgy at blizzcon confirmed!"?
MusedMoose Aug 10th 2009 7:48AM
Only if that was actually what it said. @_@
Wayne Aug 10th 2009 9:35AM
Well, DirecTV doesn't stay at Blizzcon the entire time. Last year, they gave us a look inside Blizzard's offices and interviewed a few people associated with the project in their homes and offices. So a special appearance can simply mean they talked to Ozzie Osbourne in his home or via satellite and the edited the interview into the feed.
Judas Grail Aug 10th 2009 9:41AM
Zach, your dismissive attitude isn't appreciated. If we've purchased the web Blizzcon access and have to be subjected to some 60-year old geezer that can't even put a sentence together against our will do you think I should just be happy and deal with that? Or will I get a refund for all the Ozzy parts I'm subjected to?
