I think that they should just do what alot of people have been saying for a long time. Have 3 Factions, Horde would include Orc, Troll, Undead, Blood Elfs. Alliance would include Human, Dwarf, Gnome, 4th is a toss up between the remaining 2. And a Neutral Faction that would be able to Choose a side or stay neutral consisting of Worgen, Goblin, Tauren, and eith Draenei or Night Elf.

Worgen? Seriously? *giggle*

Heebie Jeebies! Worgen on Alliance is grindin' my gears! And Goblin for Horde is just mind-boggling! I am just flabbergasted! Holy smokes!

I like to say on word " PANDARENS" read about them in lore compared to the other races.

Man, I was hoping for Goblins as a neutral race. It would totally work too! You could enter any major city, ally or horde, with impugnity so long as you weren't unfriendly or hated rep with them. Grinding rep for one faction would diminish rep with the other, but it could be an optional aspect of each quest (perhaps a "keep it professional" button to nullify unwanted rep gains). You could pvp for whatever side the city you were in at the time belonged to. You'd speak Goblin, which everyone in the world seems to understand anyway. If you wanted you could grind rep with one faction and become a horde or ally gobbo, but you wouldn't have to. Maybe that way it reputation would actually matter to the game instead of decreasing prices, giving you access to goodies, and doing other generally gimmicky stuff.
But Worgen? That feels tacked on to justify adding goblins as a race (of course they'd go to horde. I mean, they look like tiny orcs!) Worgen didn't even exist until WotK! Yes, I'm aware they existed in the mythos, but they never got any attention until WotK. They have no major cities, no presence in Azeroth or even Northrend, and no place in the minds of WoW players. Everyone knows what goblins are and what their place is in WoW, but worgen are just some random race LK threw at us to diversify questing a bit. It might as well have been Sparktouched, or Frenzyheart, or those Walrus guys. Or murlocs!
Heck, Murlocs are a step above worgen! If not for the fact that they're the biggest joke in WoW, Murlocs at least have an established place in the WoW universe.
I say give us Goblins as a neutral race and let the Light sort them out!

This is seriously the dumbest crap I've ever read in my life...
I really don't understand how people can believe this lol...

Since they seem to even out the available races for each class I think the classes will be
Worgen Druid, Worgen Hunter, Worgen Warlock, Worgen Shaman, Worgen Warrior
Goblin Paladin, Goblin Mages, Goblin Priest, Goblin Warrior

no the goblin engineers of the alliance will not be branded as traitors, as the steamwheedle cartel are not the goblins that joined the horde, but most likely a breakaway faction of them, so you can still stay as goblin engineer, and anyway u can learn gnomish and goblin now :P

goblins meh i don't like it but they needed a new race for the horde too. I just can't see me ever playing a goblin and i'll play anything. meh idk i just can't get a pisture for it. and especially not a goblin DK. Goblins shouldn't be dks imo
kerensheide83 Aug 21st 2009 4:02PM
the worgen were created by mages as a weapon to fight the undead
they should add something else, not worgen, would be weird
but i guess most people dont even know about this stuff, not even the so called lore buffs
The Blade Aug 22nd 2009 4:11AM
Ok... so the Alliance gets a race that shapeshifts... and we get... little green gnomes.
Any other Horde feel like we're getting shafted?

Worgen are really less of a stretch then I imagined. I am a huge WoW lore nerd. Played on an RP server, wrote fanfic, and am a huge believer in making things fit the context of the original strategy games lore. (Yes, I'm looking at you blue aliens from space and randomly demon psychotic Kael'thas).
However, this actually doesn't seem much of a stretch. Gilneas should have been included from day one. They were always the black horse of the Alliance but their troops were some of the most professional in the Alliance and their leader -while being a bit of a self serving tightass- was always pragmatic. Made no sense to remain isolated even after the undead had swept all around them.
Them joining up now is something that was a long time coming. And if that means making them Worgen in order to be aestheticly diverse then so be it. There had been talk years ago that the Worgen may have crossed over the wall. Arugal and the Lich King are both dead by this timeline so that does leave the Worgen leaderless. The idea that something might have happened in Gilneas to let them retain their former selves in the transformation is the only 'unlikely part' and even that doesn't seem unlikely. It really isn't the Worgen joining the Alliance as much as it is Gilneas with a population of people that look like Worgen.
I'm incredibly excited about this.

Not all of the goblins have become Horde remember. Just the Trade Princes most threatened by the Catyclysm. It really does make sense. Up until now the Goblins have personally never been threatened. During the Third War they aided both the Horde and the Alliance in fighting the Scourge/Legion but the war ended before it could reach their isolated Isles in the south.
Now, with the churning of the Maelstrom and the war of the elements these specific Goblins have made the decision that it would be most profitable to side with the Horde. Afterall, we already know some Cartels dealt almost exclusively with the Horde. Up until now there was still enough profit to be made in their few dealings with the Alliance to avoid picking a side. Now, they have decided armed security and refuge outweighs any Alliance endeavours they might have launched.

Woot cant wait for this, WotLK was alright, but this one looks like it may be the end! So it will surely be entertaining.
I have a trailer and a few articles at Thirty Fold's Addicted to World of Warcraft Blog. I wonder really though if this will be the last expansion? :P
