It's obvious a lot of people here don't get out much. If you did, you'd know that whenever a secret is leaked to the media, it is almost always done so anonymously. It's been that way, like, throughout history. Thanks for the laughs, though.

Um, I have no idea why my comment was down rated. It’s not a knock on the post or the validity of the information. Neither those who knew the identity of Deep throat nor the Game of Shadow writers were willing to release their sources, yet few question the validity of the claims from unnamed sources.
Just because Adam is unwilling to reveal the sources doesn’t mean post is inaccurate.

@Nick
You recall wrong wow.com did not break news of 3.2 being released. The European CE GM did with a post in french, of which wow.com was not the first to report news of. The were infact one of the last to jump on the 3.2 is coming bandwagon and post their news way before the ptr went offline.

The only people that can actually CONFIRM anything about WoW and Blizzard in general is Blizzard. And Activision. And even if such information "came from the horses mouth", so to speak, how do you know it's any more reliable?
Now hearing Blizzard say it would be far more reliable then me walking to the nearest WoW player and telling him random shit about upcoming features. If I worked for Blizzard and could prove it he'd probably believe me, if not then he'd probably laugh at me.
Just because one works for Blizzard however doesn't mean they cannot lie, trick and/or deceive. Do you think that sources haven't lied before? I'm not saying I don't believe you, not saying I do either. What I am saying is that I'm skeptical, and while I do believe it to probably be true (I have nothing to lose by thinking otherwise) anyone can say ANYTHING.
By the way. I have sources that Blizzard's next-gen MMO is about Captain Planet. Can't release them of course, but I work closely with Blizzard so you know it's gotta be true! NOW START SINGING THAT THEME SONG, KIDS!

The real issue is the lack of evidence. Being unable to cite a source is one thing, but at least give some evidence of the claim. Leaked promotional materials or PowerPoint slides, screenshots from an internal build, ANYTHING that backs up this claim would be nice. The Masks introduced during the PTRs are a decent starting point for rumors, but alone (or even added to the "multiple sources" that shall not be named) they provide not enough evidence to back up this "leak".
This leak story cannot be considered sound from a journalistic point of view, even Dan Rather had the Killian documents, know what I mean?
In the parlance of the gamer, Evidencenaokthx?
Snuzzle Aug 10th 2009 6:57PM
Would these "several sources" be the folks claiming, with no proof, all over the internets to have a cousin who has a brother whose neighbor once at lunch with someone who'se uncle worked for Blizz and just KNOWS Worgen are a new race? ;)
Kidding of course. But still, once can't help but remain a healthy scepticism when dealing with internet and vagueness.

I assume you feel the same way as I do that this is a horrible decision. I don't have any "better ideas", so don't you trolls jump down my throat, but it still doesn't mean that Worgen and Goblins (if it is true) would be a good idea. I'm completely happy with the number of races in the game as it stands, to be honest.
dgcollins274 Aug 10th 2009 2:38PM
1st - Taking this "news" with a grain of salt
2nd - We don't need more races
3rd - If this IS true, i hope they revamp the 20-58 leveling areas.

@schm0,
"I assume you feel the same way as I do that this is a horrible decision. I don't have any "better ideas", so don't you trolls jump down my throat, but it still doesn't mean that Worgen and Goblins (if it is true) would be a good idea. I'm completely happy with the number of races in the game as it stands, to be honest."
Professing something to be a bad idea without giving a reason is kind of lame in itself. But professing something to be a bad idea AND openly admitting you have no reason is even worse. I applaud the fact that you have an opinion and I'm not saying that it's invalid, just saying that people might take it a little more seriously and not "troll" you if you showed some method of reasoning.
And I'm glad that you're completely happy with the number of races in the game, but the truth is that Blizzard doesn't develop the game to your likes and dislikes. They develop the game based on what they predict will net them more money. To take the opposite side of your opinion, I'm sure there's a lot of people who, like myself, would find rolling an alt more attractive if I didn't have to stare at an old character model or grind through the same, old starting zones.
@dgcollins274
"2nd - We don't need more races
3rd - if this IS true, I hope they revamp the 20-58 leveling areas."
You're not going to be forced to play them, so why does it bother you? Maybe others would like to see something different. (In other words, see my 2nd point above.)
I am, however, in support of your 3rd point. Old content is old, and if they intend to keep their cash cow running like a well-oiled machine, this is definitely an area that needs looking at.
dgcollins274 Aug 10th 2009 4:29PM
@ springwater
I understand that different players want different things. And that what I want isn't necessarily what every one wants.
It bothers me because Blizzard's Time is a finite resource. When it's being used to create new race model animations instead of improving the existing areas/quest/items/instances/classes that REALLY need work, or add a new class, it does affect me.
However, if they do improve the area's that need to be improved first, i could care less what they do with their remaining time. So i'm holding back my disapointment until we see the final product.
Noraa Aug 10th 2009 4:49PM
The reason people want to hurl is because Worgen look like Furries and Furries make a large, large, large population of the WoW population want to rest their heads on a railroad line and wait for sweet release.
If this is true, that will most definitely be all I will need to head on over to Star Wars, which is what I've been waiting for since they ruined the last one.
springwater Aug 10th 2009 5:19PM
@dgcollins274
I agree that Blizzard should work on the parts that need it most. But saying that their time is "finite" really doesn't grab me. They have long been known to be the type of developer to release a project when they feel it's ready. And another point I'd like to make is that it's unlikely that the person doing the modeling for new races is the same person in charge of re-evaluating and making changes to things like quests, classes, instances, etc. I'd imagine that each aspect of the game has a dedicated team devoted to the individual tasks.
Irem Aug 10th 2009 6:31PM
@Noraa
Tauren have been part of the game for years. Honestly, if the addition of another anthropomorphic-animal race makes you want to leave the game, you were probably on your way out anyway.

@Noraa
Hey can I be a Wookie there?!
Seriousy though, you obiously have some issue. Seek help.
Adel Aug 10th 2009 2:06PM
MMmmmmmmm Worgeny goodness.
I wonder, if you make a goblin, and go engineering, could you, if you wanted to, go gnomish engineering? lawl
Docp Aug 10th 2009 2:11PM
Considering Gnomes can go Goblin it wouldn't surprise me.
Starlin Aug 10th 2009 2:11PM
Considering gnomes can learn goblin engineering, yes.
