Wow.com burns for a Warlock columnist

WoW.com is looking for a new writer to be our weekly Warlock class columnist for Blood Pact. Every week you will dazzle our readers with your words of wisdom covering everything from leveling guides to raid tactics to PvP strats to major Patch analysis to recommended AddOns for all specs and playstyles. You don't need to play all those ways (we all need a life), but you need to be able to research and write on the topics you don't have personal experience with.
If this sounds like the chance you've been waiting for, you'll find all the information you need to apply on our applications page. Be sure to submit everything asked for. Being able to follow simple instructions is part of the job. You have until end of day, Sunday, August 16th to send in your app before this message is consumed by Hellfire and is no more.
EDIT: Applications are no longer being accepted. We will look at what we received after BlizzCon and will make a final decision by September 1, 2009. If you haven't been contacted by then, you haven't been selected. Thanks.

Inv.
I play a rogue, but how hard can it be? Cast some dots, maybe a shadow-bolt or two. Fear... :D j/k
Good luck with your search.

Guess it didn't work out with Nick Whelan then.

Thankfully. I swear, I read Arcane Brilliance regularly just to find any info related to casters. I had to stomach the digs at locks because Christian is a great writer and Nick's posts were so far apart and often not very interesting or informative.

Do you have to be a native speaker or is it ok if you are just fluent and come from somewhere in Europe? ;-)
elizabeth Aug 10th 2009 11:47AM
So long as you can pull off English spelling and grammar, your native language hardly matters.
Obeyfez Aug 10th 2009 9:16AM
I nominate Christian Belt.
lawters Aug 10th 2009 9:34AM
I agree.
Orrine Aug 10th 2009 9:47AM
Then we will certanly have a handful of Warlock's suicide events. And I don't realy object it... :P
sephirah Aug 10th 2009 11:44AM
Me too!
C'mon Christian, it's time to become one of those "who in pursuit of ever-greater sources of power abandoned their studies of the Arcane or Nature and delved into darker, fel-based magic (Shadow)." (from wowwiki)

Um...I don't know if I've ever said this before, but I'm not the biggest fan of Warlocks.

lol, well I'm putting in my app, wish me luck, it just suxs I'll be PCSing to Italy on Sep 10th and real life might put a damper on my hobby time.

Y'all should try to pick up Fallenman. He's active over at ElitistJerks and, along with Clearly/Clarity, authored the last few raiding guides on the official forums. I think he used to have a blog at Warlock's den as well, and I've always appreciated how well laid out his guides are.
Lephturn Aug 10th 2009 9:36AM
I second the Fallenman suggestion. If you can get him to do it, you'll have somebody with the cred and knowledge to do a top-notch Warlock column.
adennis Aug 10th 2009 9:48AM
I third this motion. His guides are awesome and they arent like "YOU MUST PLAY A LOCK THIS WAY" he gave like a total of 6 specs for PvE/PvP and said they were all customizable. Very useful and well thought out guides

I agree...or even better; Get someone to compile short pieces from a group that included Fallenman and others like Buzzkill or some of the gang at the Warlock's Den. Have the main article writer send a question to a group of volunteers and compile an article from what they receive. Could even include Lephturn in the focus group.
Otome Aug 10th 2009 12:59PM
Yea, you can't really do much better than Fallenman.

If I had any inclination to use my Warlock as anything more than a dailies mule anymore...I'd consider it.
If you need another Shaman columnist though, gimme a call. :D

Someone seriously needs to take over from Matthew Rossi. His "Weekly" updates are becoming more like "Monthly".
