WoW Insider Show Episode 102: Stupid big-tongues

We had a terrific time (as always) on the live podcast last Saturday afternoon, as Zach Yonzon, Mike "Belfaire" Sacco, and Turpster and I sat down to talk about the most popular stories in the World of Warcraft. Of course patch 3.2 was at the forefront of our minds, and we chatted about what each of us was most interested in, from the new BG to the 5-man Trial instance. And we got a little bit of discussion in about the various classes and roles they play in instances.Of course we answered your emails as well -- we talked with Michael Sacco about the "Additional instances can't be launched" issue that's going around (that I got hit with for the first time yesterday, actually), and a reader emailed us about BRK's gun -- so awesome to see our friend get recognized, and deservedly so. It was an excellent show, in my humble opinion, and a great way to squeeze a week's worth of WoW news into just one hour.
This week, the podcast will be at a special time -- we'll be going live on Thursday at 1pm Eastern. That's a little earlier than we usually do it, but it should give our friends overseas a chance to tune in when they might not have been able to before (and if you can't make it live, don't worry, the recording will be in iTunes soon after). See you then!

Please keep the UK chic off the show from now on please. The static that she provides and lack of content isn't worth having her on. Thanks, great show without her.

It's not an insult. I don't have a problem with her on a personal level, I just think she is a bad addition to the show. I'm sure more people feel the same way. It's my opinion, and I am entitled to it. Grow up.

I like what Lesley has to contribute.
Anyway don't be so goddamn rude and learn some manners, it's so easy to take pot shots at people 'on the internet', and I imagine she reads these comments, and no doubt it's a little hurtful for someone to be singled out for exclusion in this way, and wreaks of the type of thing girls do in high school. However judging by the tone of your posts, I'm not convinced you experienced high school anyway.
If you could be constructive and tell her what you'd like her to discuss, that's great, or a better idea, let's put Tovo on the show, so we can all critique your performance, as while you complain about static, it's nothing compared to your bitchy ass whine.
She gives up her time to contribute on a very regular basis, you don't like it, go listen to something else, I'm sure wow.com doesn't need your patronage quite that badly. It's not as if you are paying for anything, it's free!
So you state your opinion, he's my opinion on what you've said, take it or leave it, I don't really care, but I don't think I ever witnessed anyone being quite so ungrateful or disrespectful on this website in the past, and believe me people have tried.
So before you reply, let's hear what you have to offer on the show, as I'm interested on how you could do better, and I'm sure a few others would be interested too.

When comparing two items or people, you use comparative terms, not superlative.
superlative : most
comparative : more
If there was a big group of hunters, I would say :
"Tovo is the 'most' mentally retarded hunter in the group."
If there was you and say a baboon playing a hunter, I would say :
"Tovo is more mentally retarded than the baboon."
Look, I can help you here Tovo, but don't treat these boards as some sort of literacy primer. I can only help so much, then it's down to you.
Anyway, you didn't say when you are on the show again?
Also, reading your post history, I'm not sure what type of respect you have to give to yet another "huntard" who has made just 10 posts here, over someone who has contributed to the show for many weeks, and is much liked?
Could someone fill me in on what this guy offers other than being an occasional poster here, am I missing something?
Finally, I don't care what your opinion is on my opinion of your opinion, as it's my opinion and you, or anyone else in the entire world, can't change that, ever!!!!!!!

To summarize: The UK chick is terrible on the show and her upset boyfriend/fan boy doesn't like that someone finally came out and said it. Mike Schramm doesn't think she is good on the show either. No matter what he says on these boards. He just wants to be polite, which never gets anyone anywhere.

Are you _really_ sure you want to speak on behalf of someone else and put words in their mouth? I can just about comprehend your petulant and obtuse outburst here, but I don't think others would be very happy if you claim to represent their views, do you?
You've already had one hell of a verbal beat down here, do you really need to heap more humiliation yourself?
That's just my opinion on your opinion, however :)
I'm not affiliated in anyway with Lesley, but I really appreciate her diligence, light-heartedness, and devotion to the podcast. If that makes me a fanboy, so be it. I'd rather than that than a sulky little boy who feels he has to be rude on the internet.

Is she dedicated? Possibly. Does she constantly interrupt the podcast with her terrible static? Yes. It's a fact. Not an opinion. Can you hear her when she decides to say something? That's debatable but I am sure you would debate against whatever I decided to say.

I agree with Tovo; and I support his right to say it. In my opinion he wasn't being as disrespectful as people are making him out to be. I have trouble hearing her at times due to her volume level and her static. But yea, just an opinion.

What's so confusing is how desperate you seem to be to defend your opinion. Like you can't resist a different point of view, and suddenly started inventing facts to back up your opinion. Almost like you don't realize your opinion...is just that, not a fact.

The thing I am defending against is the attack. I wasn't being confrontational. Everyone else was. I felt I was being attacked because I was giving an opinion. I wasn't attacking her at all. She's probably a great person and she sounds very nice, but I just feel she doesn't belong on the podcast, unless she can fix the audio on her end.

If you thought that you could throw that type of bullshit out and not expect someone to not respond, you were deluded.
So now someone disagrees with you, it's an 'attack', c'mon now..... don't be such a baby. You can neither cope with criticism or defend what you have said.
The fact that you claim her co-host doesn't 'think she is very good on the show either' is a complete lie, you should be ashamed for trying to stir up trouble. You now claim that the issues are 'audio issues' rather than to stick by you initial assertion.
I don't know what I despise more, someone who thinks it's OK to post nasty comments where you know they will cause upset, or some spineless little weasel, who when called out completely changes his story.
If you feel the issues are audio issues only, as you mention in your last post, I urge you to promptly apologize to Lesley and maybe take a break from critiquing the show for a little while.

Don't be putting words in my mouth. If I didn't think someone should be on the show, they wouldn't be on there. I think Lesley is a great and valuable host, and if you don't like her for some reason a) that's your problem, and b) wait another week. The show is designed to have rotating hosts and guests to reflect all of the various voices available on this site. Lesley's one of those and we're glad to have her and everyone else on the show.
Audio issues are always a bummer, but given our budget, we're working with what we've got. That's the long and short of it.
I think Christian Belt should come on too, but I can't force him. :) Maybe if we lured him into a Mage vs. Warlock showdown somehow.

Totally. I play on Baelgun, and we've been getting that message since Wrath launched. It's become worse with every week. Oddly, Northrend raids are always 100% accessible, but Wrath 5-mans since 3.2 and any instance from BC or Vanilla since 3.1 is pretty much off limits except for the rare occasion when you get in after 90 minutes of jumping back and forth.
