Weekly Maintenance - August 11th, 2009
This week's routine server maintenance window for US realms has been announced in-game and on the forums. You know the drill! This happens every Tuesday, nothing to see here, certainly nothing to complain about.
Downtime is scheduled to start at 5:00AM PDT/8:00AM EDT and end at approximately 11:00AM PDT/2:00PM EST. This is, of course, assuming no extra maintenance time is tacked on due to issues.
Disclaimer: Patch 3.3 is not coming out today. But, you can certainly read up on the new additions to the game with Patch 3.2 in our Guide to Patch 3.2 if you need to kill some time whilst you wait for your server(s) to come back up.

I won't be surprised if there's extended maintenance. Luckily I'm one of those people who's never affected by maintenance even though I live in the PDT timezone.
(Oh, and I hope Michael recognizes who I am. >.>)

Howdy, Dave. Tell everyone hello for me if you see them :)

Blogging on Wowhead is enough of a time consumer, but I'll sure to pass the message on some time later. You'll have be incognito, though. :(

maybe they'll fix the instance problems in Stormreaver, and any other server having the problems.

If you're talking about the "Additional instances cannot be launched, please try again" issue, then I think you'll be happy to know Blizzard is currently working on the issue, but it's not expected to be resolved for a while simply because it will require extensive testing beforehand. I'm amazed how much money people are still willing to throw at this game... double faction changes, sex/race changes? Really? Way to turn a $50 game to a $500 game! lol
The "leaked" info is really lame. So do all the goblin cities become horde cities now?
I can only think Blizz "leaked" false info to get people's emotions back up regarding the expansion without having any fact to debate. Then they can still surprise people at Blizzcon and everyone can breathe a collective sigh of relief none of it was true.
I had tinkered with the idea of returning to WoW at the next expansion. This post and subsequent comments reminds me how much I'm looking forward to the 100s of other MMOs releasing over the next few years.

Obvious troll post. But I've technically bitten.

I'm pretty sure the plethora of posts here at WoW.com as well as elsewhere on the web have basically said that hodre allied goblins would have to be separate from the Steamwhedle Cartel and maybe even separate from the whole triad. Presumably, if goblins are added, Undermine would also be added and this particular sect of goblins would have their own area similar to the Sunreavers.
The real reason I wanted to respond though was just to compliment Slartibart on the awesome name. I know where my towel is, do you?

with a name like that, they're probably waiting to spend that $500 on that hot new slammer.
Eudeyrn Aug 11th 2009 4:42AM
HA, slammers.

Unless you name your sources, I refuse to believe Patch 3.3 isn't out today.

But don't you know? Patch Day comes but once a year---I mean, uh, once a season.
But there's still plenty to do until then! Stringing up Patch Day garlands, singing Patch Day carols, and making out your list for patch day cards. When we have more info, we can start our Patch Day celebration.

Eh, Realm Maintenance Day (or RMD as I call it) doesn't affect me this week! For some sorry reason WoW decided that my account was hacked or unauthorized used, even though they have done nothing to prove it.
So I have been with out my account for two days as I wait for their pathetic system of emails to restore my account.
You know I never had any problems with blizz until this, in fact I was one of the few people on this website who supported Blizz on just about anything. But I am very offended by this system they have for supposed account hacks.
I mean EMAIL, common! I have to wait 48 to see if they may get back to me, then email them again? Why can't I call a number.
But thats the end to my rant here. Hopefully they have my account back by the time realms get back up.
Clydtsdk-Rivendare Aug 11th 2009 9:31AM
Blizz technically does have a number.
If you call it, you get "Additional phone lines cannot be launched. Please try again later."
Jonny Aug 11th 2009 11:43AM
Sith - They probably don't answer it because every call is someone QQing about their class/a raid/etc, or its someone from Ghostcrawler's fanclub.
Clydt - I lol'ed. That was epic sir.

umm i called a number when i was hacked and the lady locked my account reset personal info then let me change my email address and then unlocked it transferred to b-net account and let me reset password...they are really helpfull...i think i grabbed the number from back of the retail box or i checked in one of the forums....give it a try maybe ?
Phoenixblight Aug 11th 2009 7:44AM
Hopefully more than new races is up their sleeve because next year is gonna have some new MMos to contend with.
More innovative things then more races with same classes, and the rat race of getting new gear.
Tankadin Aug 11th 2009 10:00AM
"Disclaimer: Patch 3.3 is not coming out today."
Why would you feel compelled to write that? It's not funny or informative. I don't think the most clueless of your readers thinks Patch 3.3 is coming out in the near future.

Just curious why WoW insider and the other popular MMO websites are helping to get blizzard moving on fixing the issues with instance servers? I would think that helping the community get this issue resolved be a major point of interest. Maybe someone do a piece about it? I am pretty sure Blizzard staff checks these sites out for community information. It would be nice to see some support on this subject.. Thanks..
PS> We need as a community to put some pressure on Blizz to live up to its exceptional rep of providing quatily gaming experiences. This has not been quailty =(
