I'm of the opinion that achievements are a fairly entertaining way of messing around with your time because you want to do something besides the same boring grind...to a certain degree, anyway.
However, when it affects people's availability on doing content they otherwise would have been able to find a group for, that's just giving the elitist (insert flaming expletives here) even more straws to grasp at and the most embarrassing thing about it all? It actually *works* for them and hardly anyone I've run into seems to notice or if they do, they don't really care.
